Anyway back again with another awesome guest and this time it's Ross Stewart of The Mardous, i fantastic story, filled with sliding doors moments, The Mardous were there right at the heart of the mid noughties scene with The Libertines, The Paddingtons, The Cribs and The Others to name a few, signed to Poptones, they had an album good to go before shit went pear shaped and it never seen the light of day, well 20 years on The Mardous are releasing the old material, playing gigs and reading from the diaries Ross kept at the time, so yeah loads to talk about!

And to top it they are out on tour with The Cribs and The Paddingtons in July, catch them in Glasgow, Hull and Lincoln, get tickets here The Cribs Concerts & Live Tour Dates: 2025-2026 Tickets | Bandsintown

Something a bit different today, I hooked up with two of the finest podcasts around, Carl Maloney of the fantastic RGM Podcast, Stevie Nussbaum of the equally amazing Fantastival Podcast and myself sat down for a natter on why we do what we do, the highs and the lows and everything in between, both boys are doing terrific things in terms of promoting both grassroots and established acts and that is why i admire them so much!

If you like Time For Heroes, i guarantee you will like both these podcasts so once you've listened to this click the links and ,listen to both RGM and Fantastival.

Here's another episode to enjoy with your eggs, this time with Florentenes.

Despite their youthful exterior, this is a band with incredible maturity, humility and passion, all aspects that have clearly perked up a lot of ears since the band arrived on the scene late 2023, after debut single 'Gone', the band then released '14:17' EP recorded at Rockfield Studios and produced by the renowned Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild, Sound Of Guns etc) and are in the process of releasing tracks from their second EP, full release for 'Homegrown' is 16.05.25.

We spoke about all this plus loads more, go check out the band right after you've listened to the episode x

A lot can happen in a week of podcasts and music, since recording this episode with Ollie Anglesea of Wigan band The Lilacs, the band have had to postpone their tour after guitarist Sam Birchall was diagnosed with testicular cancer, I hope you can all join with me in expressing our best wishes to Sam and the rest of the band at this time and wish him the speediest of recoveries.

As well as that the bands EP 'The 395 (To Forever)' has done tremendously in the charts coming in at #4 in the downloads, #6 in the independent's and #9 in the vinyl's!
