September 09, 2022Episode 2-Rachel Somers-PsychotherapyI was delighted to be joined by Rachel Somers who speaks about her journey going into Psychotherapy and how it made her into the therapist she is today. Rachel spoke to me about how she first got into Psychotherapy and the reasons she wanted to help people, i was delighted to speak to her about different varieties of Mental Health. Rachel spoke about the first job she got working with drug addicts and alcoholic addicts and how it was an eye opener for her going into Psychotherapy. We discussed how addicts have made recoveries and feel good stories about how they've turned their lives around and how it gives her pride when she's seen those clients. Rachel spoke about how she got her own practise which was 10 Years ago called Somers Psychotherapy which has a team of different type of therapists, Rachel spoke candidly about when people make a call that she wants it to be the only phone call they need to make. They talked candidly about the origins of AUS and how the idea came to fruition where Kevin is passionate about creating more opportunities for people with Disabilities within the Community and Sport was a great way to do that. They spoke to me about their future visions for the club and i loved the way they spoke about their approach to the club, you can tell it feels like a proper family environment where the importance of family and friendships is emphasised.
