When the words don’t match the actions you will instinctually not trust someone, the growth and the grace is in trusting that feeling. You will know you can’t trust someone before you know you won’t. It’s when you know you won’t that you will start to loosen your grip.

I think we can all agree that the measure of a person should not be defined by their worst moments. My question then is this… When have we seen our current president unify or connect the American people? When have we seen our current president display character traits that we as individuals and a collective actually admire?

We all have toxic traits and we can, have, or will be habitually toxic to someone or something at some point in our lives. The people taking stock of who they are, have been, and want to be are the real hero’s.

2020 has been tragic, jarring, unjust, scary… It’s also been a gift for those of us lucky enough to have kept our jobs. It’s been a gift for those of us who haven’t gotten sick. It’s been a gift for those of us who remain untouched by systemic racism.

If you recognize yourself in any of the privilege I just listed may we rise up together so that all might know the gifts of trust, consistency, and equality. Voting is an act of service. Voting is also an opportunity to lend your voice to the chorus of what you believe in. And I truly believe the greatest gift is the gift of service, and my mama always told me if you can’t give with a happy heart, don’t give. Set aside the fear and the anger and instead give your vote with just love in your heart. Because it’s time that love wins. It was time 4 years ago. It was time 400 years ago. And it’s time now.

It’s time to loosen our grip on the old way and usher in the new.

Mask up and head to those polls America. Black lives matter. Indigenous lives maltter. Let history and love remind you where your heart is.

Just love. And just love immediately.

LET’s GO!! I want to talk about how tomorrow early voting begins for North Carolina and how I, personally, think it’s fabulous that early voting takes place in October because October is Libra season and you know us Libras love harmony and we seek to balance those scales of justice. ⚖️🗳👏🏻

Typically we come to harmony through the struggle of conflict. Harmony is created or achieved through struggle. And we often struggle because of our judgements, judgement of others and judgement of self. During election season there is no shortage of judging others!

Judgement is addictive. Judgement is erosive. It is HARD not to judge. We must be patient with ourselves when unlearning the pattern of judgment because what I’ve come to understand is that when we are standing so firmly in our own judgements we are also standing firmly in our own arrogance and fear that we alone somehow know how things should be or how things should go. Judgement does not allow space for change. However, non-judgement invites growth, change, and harmony.

I challenge you to set aside your judgements and ask yourself: What do you believe and what are you willing to do about it?

Voting is our right.

Voting is how one voice becomes many.

It’s time to shoot your shot America.

I hope you vote.

I hope you vote early.

I remember how deeply happy you were when you told me you were getting Mr. Cassidy and I honestly hope I never forget it. **Max has literally influenced every part of my life, down to the way I treat my own dog.** So this is me and my girl spreading the love and sending you all the very best for your birthday. We love you. We appreciate you. We are lucky to count you as part of our chosen family. 💕

OVER 133,000 deaths in JUST the US from the coronavirus... From the outside looking in it’s hard not to think we are a nation determined to destroy each other and ourselves. There is strength in numbers. I implore you to be among the number of people wearing masks and washing their hands and not the rising number of deaths. 

Do we all really understand that people who suffer from this virus suffer alone because the risk to other lives is too great. Do we all really understand that the people who have died from this virus have died alone because the risk of infecting loved ones was too great. Do we all really understand that the people you see at the dentists office or the grocery store love their families with the same ferocity that you love yours... Did you know there are cases of COVID-19 being spread from people to their pets... This is a painful and isolating virus and who loves us more than our dogs or family pets? If you cannot see the line and rise to it for your fellow Americans then do it for the dogs. 💕
