  • Tipp Today Highlights - Cahir Senior Citizens Party
    One of the biggest events on the Cahir social calendar was held on Friday night.
    Now in it's nineteenth year, the annual Cahir Senior Citizens party saw dozens of OAPs from around the County travel to the Cahir House Hotel for a night of entertainment.
    Cahir Gardai help organise the event, which is also staffed by volunteers from the Colaiste Dun Iascaigh, the Scouts and various volunteer emergency services.

    All of those involved in the Soloheadbeg Ambush were remembered at a very special ceremony in West Tipp yesterday.
    The community organised event, with the backing of Tipperary County Council, brought family relatives together to mark the centenary of what's widely recognised as the start of the War of Independence.

  • Tipp Today Highlights - Carrick Students Calls For State Exam Bereavement Procedures
    Rhona Butler – like tens of thousands of others – completed her Leaving Cert last June.
    However, in the middle of the exams, Rhona's mother Margaret passed away after a battle with cancer.
    Despite the tragic loss, Rhona continued on with her exams as she says she had no choice but to continue.
    She's now calling on the Minister to implement a bereavement procedure to ensure future exam students don't find themselves in the situation she did.
