This episode we discuss a movie that stars one of this eras iconic comedian actors in a pretty dramatic role.  There are some funny elements in the film, but he plays his character very understated compared to his typical over the top roles.  The supporting cast is very strong and the premise is unique and original, making for a pretty strong, often overlooked film.

This episode we bring back one of our guest hosts to look at one of the best horror films from last year.  The film was distributed by one of our favorite production studios.  The film has a few jump scares, but is much more psycological in its use of horror.  The film is very strong and is highly recommended. 

We ended up going back to the theatre and this episode we will be discussing the two films we saw.  The first film is a sports drama that stars one of the biggest up and coming actresses.  The trailer kind of oversold how risqué the movie would end up being.  The second film is a straight up action porn flick who's main character doesn't speak.  The trailer for this movie was also slightly misleading because it was not nearly as funny as it was advertised.  That being said, both movies were pretty strong.

This episode we discuss a movie that recently dropped on Apple+.  The movie has a huge cast, an established director, and massively underperformed at the box office.  Most spy movies have twists built in and this is no exception, but the twists in this film fall a bit flat.  The performances are pretty strong all around, but the script is where it kind of falters.

We took another trip to the theatre so this episode we will be discussing two new movies that we just watched.  The first film is a sequel to a sequel of movies that came out 20+ years ago.  The flick had a lot, maybe even too much going on.  The second film is more of an arthouse horror film featuring nuns and religion.  The movie also happens to star one of the biggest up and coming stars working today.

This episode we discuss a newly released series on Netflix that is based on a movie that came out a few years previously.  While the show has none of the characters from the movie, the series very obviously is set in the same world.  The director of the movie ended up being the show runner of the show, so they both have the same feel.  This type of story is what the director excels at, so both are very enjoyable.

We are back with the sixth edition of the red carpet walk of shame.  This episode will cover the 2024 Oscars red carpet.  Compared to most years, the looks were pretty tame, and as usual, we go down several tangents talking more about the actors and actresses than the outfits they were wearing.

This episode we will be making our predictions for the 2024 Academy Awards.  We had four of us take part in the prediction taking, and there were quite a bit of similarities in our choices.  We added some stakes this year in that the winner will get to choose two movies to purchase.

This episode we decided to discuss a movie that has several Oscar nominations because the award ceremony is this coming weekend.  Unfortunately, the movie we picked was not good at all.  We clearly weren't the target demographic for this film.  The movie however was one of the biggest of the year pulling in over a billion dollars.  One good thing you can say about the film is that it is visually striking.

This episode we chose a random movie from our collection, which is why the film we are discussing is in the middle of a franchise.  This is the fourth of five, and is the only one in the series that is rated PG-13.  Even with that said, this is still a pretty strong entry in the franchise while increasing the scale of the threat.  It has most if not all of the hallmarks from the series.
