This episode we take a look at our first movie from 2023 and we ended up picking a pretty wild one.  The director of this film is the son of the man who could be considered The Godfather of body horror, and that connection certainly shows in this film.  It needs to be said that this flick is not going to be for everyone, but those who like will enjoy it a great deal.

It has been quite a while since we have gotten around to doing an episode.  Part of it was we were busy, one of us was sick for a bit, but we are now back and hopefully going to be posting more regularly.  We are starting to get to years where we aren't so familiar with the movies which makes it fun.  The next year in review podcast we will be moving back to the present so we can start prepping for the Oscars.

Once again we are getting close to wrapping up another decade of movies.  One of the hosts thought this was a pretty poor year, while the other two believes it to be pretty strong.  There are a few classics that came out this year from all different genres of cinema.  We will probably do one more year before we jump back to 2022 to begin prepping for the Oscars.

We are one step closer to the end of this franchise, and this film is kind of an off shoot of the series.  There are two returning characters, but other than that there is no connection to the rest of the franchise.  There is a well documented riff between the two biggest stars of the films which is why this one came to be.  It certainly was set up for a sequel, but as of now it doesn't seem like it will come to pass.

Another year in review is in the bag, and we have finally moved beyond any of our birth years.  It is getting to the point where we haven't seen too many of the films from that year, so we get to see a lot of these for the first time.  That being said, that will probably lead to a bit more crossover going forward.

Continuing on with our franchise, we have entered the era where one of the main characters will no longer appear because the actor tragically died.  There was also a lot of drama going on behind the scenes and this will be the last time that two of the stars will appear on screen in this franchise again.  As per usual, the movie is absolutely ridiculous, but it functions as an enjoyable popcorn flick.

It has been quite awhile since we have visited Hogwarts, so we decided it was time to discuss the next entry in this franchise.  This is the last one that I have previously seen, so going forward should be interesting.  This is a long film, and really the first film in the franchise where the good guys don't necessarily win.

We are getting closer and closer to the end of this franchise, and honestly, this would have been the perfect time to pull the rip cord.  Characters are lost, a new character is added to the "family", and a new villain is introduced.  The reason this would have been the perfect time to end the franchise is that one of the actors who portrays a pivotal character tragically passed.  Unfortunately, these movies print money so there was no way they weren't going continue the franchise.

We have finally reached the end of our characters movie franchise.  This is the fourth actor in five movies to play the role, and it appears as it was set up to be a reboot to kickstart a new start for the franchise.  While this movie was strong, it didn't do enough at the box office to warrant any more entries.  While this characters movie career may be over, he has been brought back in a series, which we will soon be discussing.

We are continuing on through the current franchise and it is quickly becoming more of a superhero movie than a movie about fast cars and hot chicks.  You get it all, crazy stunts, impossible feats of strength, and characters returning back from the dead.  At this point, they are essentially obligated to make the movies more ridiculous and more extreme.  This episode is shorter than usual because there was a large amount that had to be cut out.
