This new HBO Max Scooby-Doo spin-off series developed by The Mindy Project producers Charlie Grandy and Mindy Kaling, released its first pair of episodes on Thursday. Today we head back into Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe with AMC’s new supernatural horror series, Mayfair Witches. If you think you're going to hear a bunch about spell casting and black cauldrons, think again. This modern adaptation of Rice's classic story is less Harry Potter and more Dangerous Liaisons. 
The first episode, which aired Sunday night, is titled “The Witching Hour." It runs 52 minutes, stars Alexandra Daddario in the lead role, and was created by Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding.

Copenhagen Cowboy is a Danish-noir series on Netflix created by Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for his work on the Pusher film trilogy and directing 2011’s action-drama Drive.  The pilot we’re discussing is titled “Miu The Mysterious,” which has a runtime of 56 minutes. Like many anime before it, Chainsaw Man kicks off as a small scale fantasy-comedy filled with immature jokes, conventional monsters, and a main character with massive plot armor. All of this is upended by episode eight, and we highly recommend you watch the full series before listening to our review where we summarize and rate our favorite episodes of the season.
