Austrian singer Conchita Wurst took out the Eurovision Song Contest crown in 2014 with her Bond-esque Rise Like a Phoenix.

She hits the stage at Arts Centre Melbourne this week performing an amazing array of songs with Australia’s queen of cabaret Trevor Ashley, along with special guest Kate Miller-Heidke.

The musical version of Shrek has just opened on the Melbourne stage, and Tom spoke to its stars Ben Mingay who plays the title character, and Lucy Durack who plays the love interest Princess Fiona.

He finds out what it takes to play the larger-than-life ogre on stage each night, what audiences can expect from the show, and what it took to get Lucy to fart and belch on stage.
