In this episode, I discuss some easy ways to manage stress during these difficult times. Also discussed are how you can use this time as a fitness and nutritional reset, and why does everyone think they are qualified to give out fitness advice?
After a two week hiatus, I'm back! In this episode on Tom Rini Radio, I talk about the importance of relationships and how it can affect your overall health. Also discussed in this episode is the value of finding people (and professionals) who sincerely care about you, your fitness, and your journey. Thanks for listening!
In this episode of Tom Rini Radio, I discuss some of the podcasts and books I am currently listening to and reading. I also discuss some of the fallacies out there regarding detox and cold thermogenesis. Although I wanted to get into youth strength and conditioning programs, I held back for another episode :). Lastly, I explain what "functional bodybuilding" is and why most of us don't need it.
In this episode, we dive into why you should be taking an organ meat supplement instead of your multivitamin, why your New Year Resolution will most likely fail (only 8% make it), and what you can do to make sure that it doesn't. We also discuss all of the training and fitness misinformation out there and why most don't need anything extreme to make continued progress.
Enjoy!
On this episode, I discuss my continued disgust for commercial gyms and diet programs and how they have zero interest in your long term health, wellness, and fitness. I also consider how an actual change from a nutritional perspective can only happen when you eliminate the word "diet" from your vocabulary. Understanding that real, long term changes need to become part of a lifestyle change in which we don't look at specific nutritional strategies as a short term fix, but a long term proposition. Lastly, we started going through the "Top 20 Nutritional Myths of 2020," according to Examine.com.
Thanks for joining me and enjoy!
The systems in place to educate youth on the value of fitness, health, and wellness is corrupt. The supposed structure of the "Health & Physical Education" curriculum sets a precedent for obesity and poor health markers that continue into adulthood.
The lack of emphasis on an actual education regarding fitness and the impact it has on our overall development both physically and mentally is merely nonexistent in our educational structure.
We, as a society, need to do a better job for young people. Their lives depend on it!
What makes a fitness professional? Sadly, the barrier to entry is so low it is virtually non-existent. In this episode, I discuss the lack of true fitness professionals out there and why a prospective athlete (client) needs to ask questions and do some research before working with one.
On this episode of Tom Rini Radio, I discuss the difference between motivation and drives and why, for long term success, drive is the key. I also discuss the problem with at home fitness routines and some of the terrible exercise programs out there that claim to advocate fitness.
On this episode of Tom Rini Radio, I dive into the youth sports culture. What it is, how we got to where we are and how parents can either help or hurt their child's development.
