Tom the Preacher

How true. We all face "giants," don't we? Are there any giants you're currently facing? If so, take them down!!! Find the "stones" God has provided for you to hurl at our unseen enemy. Summon the courage to fight not just for your sake, but for God's glory and honor! These giants are taunting the army of the living God; they should taunt us no longer!.

Most people vastly underestimate the spiritual power of music, both for good and for evil. The Spirit of God had departed from Saul, and he was now being tormented by an evil spirit. Whenever Saul was tormented, David played, and the evil spirit departed from Saul. Can this work today for you and me?

People look at our outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. God's not fooled by a person's charisma, charm, good looks, impressive physique, or fashionable clothing. In fact, He's not fooled by any of the outward things that impress us. God looks on the inside at the heart.

Have you ever grieved over the fall of a Christian leader you looked up to? It's happened to me more times than I care to remember. I've learned that if I'm not careful, their failure can spiritually paralyze me. Their failure can become my failure. How can you move on after witnessing the fall of someone you thought was so in touch with God?
Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer to learn how I've done it.

I don't believe all sins are "equal." All sins are wrong, but some sins are worse than others. Saul committed a sin that was a lot worse than either he realized, and it cost him his kingdom. It's something we should not tolerate in ourselves or our children.

Taking risks, failing, learning, growing, and doing better the next time is the only way to do great things and achieve great goals. Be a risk-taker for God! Perhaps the Lord will work for you like He did for Jonathan, and your victories will bring great glory to God!

Should you give up on people when they sin? Does God? They may be tempted to give up on themselves, but when Samuel admonished the Israelites for wanting a king, he took a different approach.
"You have sinned," he said, "but get right with the Lord and do not turn aside from following Him!"  Turning aside now would add one sin on top of another. That second sin can be worse than the first, for it can cause our spiritual momentum to go in the wrong direction. It makes committing a third and fourth sin that much easier.
