Tom the Preacher

Israel was to be a different kind of nation. God was their King. He blessed Israel by, among other things, giving them His laws, providing for them, protecting them, and leading them into battle. But as time went on, being led by an invisible King became a bit much for the people. They wanted to be like the rest of the nations; they wanted an earthly king to do all the things God had been doing for them, and this got them in a lot of trouble.
Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer as we see what we can learn from Israel's mistake.

Atheists often contend they are good even though they don't have God. But it's not just atheists. Most everyone believes they are "basically good" even without God. But what's the truth about the matter.

How does God speak to us today? Is it too vague to say He speaks to us any way He wants to?
If so, I'm sorry. But truthfully, throughout Scripture, God spoke to people people in numerous ways, and it's reasonable to assume He can still do so today.
Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer to more about how God can speak to you.

These were dark days in Israel. The sons of Eli the priest despised the offering of the Lord and God was going to judge them. But He would raise up a new priest who would do according to what's on God's heart. Have you ever wondered how this applies to you and me? Do you know what's on God's heart?

Our God is the Lord God, the Almighty! I trust you believe that, but some who claim this doctrinal belief don't really honor God with their choices. This is even true of some ministers in full-time service. But if you do honor God, He promises to honor you!!! What would that look like?
