Talked a lot about my morning routine and how I’m trying to change it up to make sure the writing happens. Going back to my roots and trying to remember how it felt when I did it for fun.

Talked about Ensign Hale (Officer in the Union Fleet) and Mr. Gorzug.

Yes, you’ll want to punch Hale and maybe kick his superiors. Gorzug feels like Terry Pratchett meets Basil Fawlty in a struggling school somewhere in the Midlands. I loved them both for different – mostly technical – reasons. I may have spent too much time on them.

Just a fancy “looks like rain” cloud. It didn’t and I wished I hadn’t worn the rain shell.

Talked about FNV, finishing Union Fleet, and starting Mr. Gorzug, Substitute Teacher. It’s brilliant.

Eight hours of sleep, that is. It puts me out later but maybe it’s worth it.

Talked about Officer in the Union Fleet (again), getting old, and the people and dogs I met along the path this morning. Also getting old means I start talking like an old man.

Slow and ragged day. Started the walk too late but the ambient temperatures weren’t horrible. Talked about Fallout New Vegas and Officer of the Union Fleet again. Touched on Nate-oWriMo.

Because I was busy not putting my shoes on. I talked about Joe Durham’s Officer (book 6) series. It’s beautifully done. Also Charlie Crews in Life (Amazon Prime TV). Probably some other stuff that I’ve forgotten. Mostly just enjoying the morning.

At least in feel. It’s actually a couple of degrees warmer this morning but less humid. Talked Fallout New Vegas, fun with linux compatibility layers, and – at the end – Georgia Satellites (for some reason only my subconscious knows).

A very long night’s sleep Saturday left Sunday a mere shadow of its former self. I took the whole day off and fought with fooling a Windows game into running on Linux again.

Sorta the nature of the episodic game, innit? There’s always the next one.

Yesterday was not a record breaker in terms of word count but I managed three sprints with marginal results. At least the words I got will stay. Probably. I’m still not happy with the raw numbers that I’m getting but words is words.

Also talked about Officer of the Union Fleet some more. I’m into book 4 and watching how Joe Durham handles the transition from ensign to lieutenant.

A set back yesterday. I talked about that, noted that goose season has started, and walked without talking a lot.
