King Uzziah rules in Judah. He is a good king by and large, but his pride and ego get ahead of him; and he sins before God.

Jesus talks to the Samaritan woman. Many Samaritans believe. The gospel of Jesus Christ must go out to EVERYONE and ANYONE - who is willing to hear.

King Amaziah Rules in Judah. He reigns for 29 years. He picks a fight with the King of Israel but loses. Eventually, he turned away from God.

John the Baptist Exalts Jesus. John humbles himself: he says that Jesus is the greater and that he (John) is the lesser. It is time for the spotlight to shine on Jesus, not on him (John) - since his role is just as a subordinate and that he should not let any pride, ego and narcissism (he had none apparently) get in the way of The Mission. (I believe that some false teachers start out with the best of intentions to do right; but when it is time to step out of the spotlight and surrender it all to Jesus, they just can't because they love the attention and money too much.)

King Joash repairs the temple, but later the high priest

The Wedding at Cana. Jesus clears out the Temple. Since believers are in the New Testament are a Temple, God lives in us and Jesus clears out the sin out of her hearts; He is the only one that Can.

Revolt against Queen Athaliah. She was the usurper of the crown of Judah, and Joash's grandmother.

Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word. The testimony of John the Baptist. Jesus, the Lamb of God. The First Disciples.

These are the accounts and chaos of kingdoms under sin that are not ruled by God's holiness. King Ahaziah Rules in Judah for only one year. (Like his father, King Jehoram of Judah, he too is a bad king. He meets his downfall when he and the king of Israel-King Joram-are cut down by Jehu. His mother Athalia - who is the sister of King Joram and the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel - afterwards rules in Judah for six years. She also tried to have her grandson Joash - the next heir to the Davidic dynasty - killed, but was not successful. His aunt Jehosheba - a daughter of King Jehoram - saved his life.)

Summary of this chapter: Do what is good. Don't get caught up with silly religious practices/theories that are made up. Don't get involved with religious endless arguments about theology-that-does-not-matter and is not of salvation importance. They expend inner energy and put one into a negative mind-set.
