The Day of the Lord is coming swiftly. Now is not the time to be apathetic. It is the time to be sober and watchful - and to be vigilant. Our Lord is coming very shortly, and He shall find us excited. (Isaiah 25:9)

King Jehoshaphat of Judah and King Ahab of Israel form an alliance to fight a war against the Syrians. God sends a true prophet Micaiah to speak against the terrible outcome of this bad plan, but King Ahab decides to listen to false prophets who lie anyways. Same reason why the crowd picked Barabbas to free instead of Jesus - natural man without God's standards and Jesus' teachings - always make the wrong choice. Since he (i.e. man) without God's advice cannot see the Big Picture and all the variables involved - but God values personal choice. And each man - and woman - is free to choose their own destiny.

The Danger of False Teachers. Test the spirits by the Word of God / by the Spirit of God. (Jesus' teachings / the Bible / the Holy Spirit). The devil is trying to mess up the message and feed a corrupted gospel to as many people as he can (Galatians 1:6-9) by blocking Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:4).

King Jehoshaphat Rules in Judah. He follows and worships the one true God. He is a Law and Order king and ruler of Judah.

Growing in faith. Paying attention to Scripture. All scripture is given by inspiration by the Holy Spirit through holy men who were inspired to write; the scriptures is not just a human creation from the minds of men only.

Final Years of King Asa's reign: after the 35th year of his reign, Israel led by King Baasha was warring against Judah . From the text, it appears that King Asa trusted in man more than God and his faith appeared to take a downturn. He reigned for another six years, and he died of a foot disease. He had reigned the southern kingdom of Judah for a total of 41 years.

Advice for Elders and Men. Stand firmly against the wiles of the tempter - the devil.

Asa's religious reforms. A recommitment to the covenant between God and Israel to see God with all their heart. (Symbolic of Jesus and the New Covenant(?) in the New Testament)

Living for God. Suffering for being a Christian
