Well, we made it!  

52 Episodes down the track, in our first season, and the Too Dads Podcast has hit the 1 year anniversary.  

And what a year it has been!  The podcast was born out of the Melbourne lockdowns of 2021 during the second wave of the CoCo here in Victoria, and it has been an amazing journey.  

Over our 52 episodes, we have covered a whole range of topics.  We've had guests on the show, and shared more puns and dad jokes than we thought was possible!  And we are so grateful to our viewers and subscribers to the channel.  

We wholeheartedly and sincerely appreciate all of your support....THANK YOU.  

Season 1 has been more than what we had anticipated.  We enjoyed every minute of it.

For all of its picturesque landscapes, bustling cities, sport-crazed events, and beauty, Australia does have a dark past.  

Colonization of this great country is a burden on its 'lucky country' promise.  

It is certainly a wound far from healed, and a scar that will remain forever (no matter how much time passes and we wish for it to fade away).  But, there is hope that steps are being taken, arguably smaller than what they actually need to be.    

What we are left with though is many asking "When are we reconciled?' with this country's First Nations people.... will we ever be?

It has been a topic debated for decades now in Australia. And with the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, that debate has been reignited.  

Are we a Monarchist country? or is a Republic nation on the cards?  Intertwined in all of this, is Australia's dark past where for sections of our society, the Monarchy is very closely (if not directly) linked to the colonization of this nation.  

A chapter in our history that most certainly has left a scar that is unlikely to ever fade.  

The Too Dads have raised this question in a previous episode (Is Royalty relevant), and it's a fair question to ask if we are to remain a Monarchist nation.  

But if we didn't, what real-world problem would or could that actually solve?

"Hey, there's a yoghurt in the fridge that expires on the 16th....is someone gonna eat it?"  

This phrase (or something similar) I'm sure would be familiar to some.   

Use by dates, or best before dates...how far past these dates can you go before you run the risk of becoming a school science experiment?  

The Too dads have a view on this, and since we had been asked by one of our listeners and subscribers (thanks Ian from the Apple Isle!), we unpack just how many days can you say "oh it was used by the 20th, but it's only been a few days...should still be good! ....right?"  

As usual, we have the dad jokes and puns (and an absolute ripper lineup of puns with one indeed being a worthy 'BOUCH' opener.

In the 48th installment of the Too Dads Podcast, a trip to the regional Victorian town of Morewell for a few days tested our Dad from the Northern studios as he wraps up week 2 of his plant-based journey.  

Who would have thought something as simple as a salad roll would cause so much angst and controversy?  

With Sid coming to a close of his 2-week self-experiment, eating plant-based in a country town, well, not only did it raise some eyebrows, and glaring looks, but it also got some a little hot under the collar!  

As usual, we cover some new puns and dad jokes, and it looks like our new segment "Dude, that's not parking" is here to stay, thanks to the public who continue to deliver the goods.

It seems the options out there are everywhere, but still, the Too Dads are stuck on that one burning question 'who is plant-based meat targeted towards'?

You are what you eat.  

A statement that has been around for decades now.    

And over the decades, the thought of a diet has been typically associated with not only restricting what you eat, but more so determining what you eat, how much of it you can eat and how often.  

Diets just feel like a chore.  In some cases, it would seem that individuals become a slave to how they must nourish themselves.  And it is fair to say that a diet is a regime typically undertaken by an individual in order to reach an ideal weight goal or aesthetic appearance.  

But do we really need the word "diet"?  

The Too Dads in episode 46 unpack this, with an unexpected twist revealed by one of the Too Dads themselves.

Politicians are hard to trust at the best of times.  

There are fractions in our society that sing from the hilltops that the majority are 'power hungry, ego maniacs!", and as a little over the top that sounds when you say it out loud....enter Scott Morrison.  

This past week the Australian public, and more broadly the world came to understand that the former Prime Minister of Australia bought unto himself to swear himself into a number of Federal Ministerial portfolios, and the only other possible person in Government to know about it was the Governor General....not even the Minister sworn into that portfolio knew at the time .... until now.  

The Too Dads unpack this 'questionable breach of Parliamentary procedure and conduct'.  And to be clear, no laws were broken, but still, morally, it's potentially another reason to solidify why some do not trust the pollies.  

Good ol' Scott no mates, well, he's certainly living up to that un-savory term with this one.

Did anyone notice that a 'major' sporting event was being held over the past few weeks?  

It's not an Olympic year, and the Soccer World Cup doesn't start until November this year....so can anyone hazard a guess?  

Well, first off, the event is invite-only, and to earn the right to an invite, well, you gotta be in tight with her majesty....and have an active membership under the Commonwealth!  

First off, we take nothing away from the athletes who compete in the Commonwealth Games.  Their dedication and sacrifice is commendable and inspirational, BUT....when you strike out two-thirds of the world population, how is it not really the games of Big Fish in a Small Pond!  

The Too Dads in episode 44 have made a call, and that call is the Commonwealth Games are just too done!

Well, it is no secret as we have seen it before.  

We have all seen the news of the Chinese Government striking a deal with the Solomon Islands Government, to provide them the green light to improve the Island nation',  seaports and aviation infrastructure, as well as a few other sweeteners.  

Why the big deal?  After all, the Solomon Islands is, unfortunately, the second poorest nation within the Pacific Island region, this is a story of of the good samaritan no?  

As we have seen in the past, this is likely to be yet another 'chess' move by the Chinese Government to gain some ground in the Pacific region ( we have seen it in other parts of the world, just take a look at Ep 22 of the Too Dads Podcast - The comedian is Putin China in the arctic https://youtu.be/fsbcEJx3vVg)
