Reading A Promised Land by Barack Obama and one word hit me: SLOG.
That slow, steady grind when it’s not fun—but still necessary.
In this episode, I break down why the slog is where growth happens and how staying consistent in those moments separates you from everyone else.
Because the highlight is earned in the grind.

Well… it finally happened.
After all the episodes, all the conversations, all the stories… Too Good To Be Drew is coming to an end.
No more episodes.
No more rants.
No more Uncle Drew wisdom in your ears.
It’s been an incredible run and I truly appreciate everyone who’s listened, shared, supported, and been part of the journey.
…
Alright, relax.
Just Josh’n.
The show isn’t going anywhere. But with a packed month of travel, speaking engagements, and a lot happening behind the scenes, episodes will be a little lighter for the rest of this month.
We’ll still be popping in, and once April hits, we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Appreciate y’all rocking with Too Good To Be Drew. The best is still ahead. 🎙️

In Part 2 of the Winning Edge Retreat series, Drew reflects on Saturday morning — the most impactful day of the retreat. Before the group made their way to Joshua Tree, something powerful happened: real connection.
When people slow down, share space, and choose to truly engage with one another, it creates something special. That morning served as a reminder that growth, leadership, and brotherhood are built through intentional time together.
One of the biggest takeaways from the experience was simple: there are no shortcuts to connection.

THE WINNING EDGE - Thomas R. Williams
In this episode, Drew reflects on attending The Winning Edge Retreat, created by Thomas R. Williams—a powerful men’s gathering built for growth, accountability, and brotherhood among high-performing men.
Leading up to the retreat, the energy was clear: men intentionally stepping away from their routines to sharpen their mindset, leadership, and purpose. Day 1 set the tone immediately—powerful conversations, honest reflection, and a room full of men committed to becoming better versions of themselves.
The biggest takeaway? Iron sharpens iron. When you surround yourself with men who are pushing themselves, it challenges you to raise your own standard.
This episode is also a battle cry for men everywhere:
Stop doing life alone. Get up. Get out. Find your community. Put yourself in rooms that sharpen your edge.
Growth doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in brotherhood and accountability.

In this episode of Too Good to Be Drew, I talk about the difference between clean jerseys and dirty jerseys.
Some people go through life with a jersey that’s way too clean. No sweat. No grass stains. No evidence they were ever really in the game. They show up, go through the motions, and skate by without ever truly putting themselves on the line.
But the people who grow, who experience life, who actually get somewhere… their jerseys are dirty.
They’ve been knocked down. They’ve taken risks. They’ve worked hard enough to sweat, stumble, and pick themselves back up again.
Life isn’t meant to be played from the sidelines. Get your jersey dirty. Get in the game. Have some fun, take some hits, collect a few scars, and keep moving forward.

Ask a question for the show
In this episode of Too Good to Be Drew, I break down a truth many people overlook: luck has nothing to do with it.
What people call “luck” is really opportunity meeting preparation. The early mornings. The late nights. The reps nobody sees. The commitment to keep going when it would be easier not to.
If you want the results, you have to be willing to apply the pressure. The juice only comes after the squeeze.
So the question becomes simple: Is the juice worth the squeeze?

On today’s Monday episode, we’re talking about a simple but powerful truth: if you don’t like the situation you’re in, you have two choices. Change the situation or change your attitude.
I reflect on a recent get-together with friends and family where I took a step back and realized something important. I’m wealthy. Not just financially, but relationally. I was surrounded by people who pour into me and people who are thriving in their own lives. Builders. Dreamers. Leaders. Family. Friends. It hit me that this is real wealth.
Instead of comparison, I chose gratitude. Instead of wanting more, I appreciated what already is.
Life is too short to not have good friends around you. If you don’t have them, go get some. If you’ve got them, hold on to them for dear life.
As you start this week, ask yourself what really needs to change. Your situation or your attitude.

Development is personal.
Nobody is coming to promote you in your own life. If you want the next level — you have to step up to it.
In this episode, we talk about the courage it takes to keep climbing. To stop getting comfortable. To stop shrinking. To stop waiting for permission.
Growth requires:
You can’t ask for next-level results with entry-level effort.
Pick one area of your life and raise the standard this week.
Climb.
It’s not too good to be true.
It’s Too Good To Be Drew.

Motivation Monday energy as we slide into the week the right way. No fluff, no shortcuts—just the reminder that growth has a cost, and that cost is usually discomfort. If you’re pursuing what you say you want, the struggle isn’t a sign you’re off track… it’s proof you’re on the path. We talk about leaning into the work, staying disciplined when the hype fades, and choosing progress over comfort.
We also get real about preparing profusely—because opportunity doesn’t reward hope, it rewards readiness. The work you put in when nobody’s watching is what gives you confidence when the moment shows up. Preparation turns pressure into purpose and separates wishful thinking from real pursuit.
Fresh off a men’s retreat in Palm Springs, I’m carrying some powerful perspective on brotherhood, accountability, and raising the standard—not just for ourselves, but for the people in our circle. This episode is a challenge to pursue your potential out loud and to lovingly challenge those around you to step into theirs. We’ve got some really good stuff coming down the pipe—this is just the beginning.

Wouldn’t be a Fast Friday without hearing from Uncle Drew. The rain in Los Angeles finally cleared (for now), and that shift sparked a reflection on seasons, solitude, and self-discovery. Drew shares how four years living in Eugene, Oregon pushed him to get comfortable being alone, not waiting on people to make plans, not waiting on someone else to bring the energy, and not waiting for permission to explore life.
This episode is about learning yourself in the quiet, moving with intention, and realizing you don’t need a crowd to start living fully. If you’ve been sitting around waiting on others to move first, this one’s for you.
