Toronto’s twilight warrior Max Scherzer returned to form in a major way, etching his first win in nearly a year at age 40. The Blue Jays dominated with a five‑hit masterpiece from Scherzer and a six‑run outburst in the fifth inning—thanks to sloppy A’s defense and relentless offense—securing a 7–6 lead that would hold. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. notched his 1,000th career hit, while the Jays' bullpen lockdown sealed the deal, giving Toronto a sweep‑like statement victory in their first game of this West Sacramento series.
