Two massive recruiting announcements take center stage this week: OL Nate Carson from Irmo and CB Joshua Dobson from Fort Mill (Or Cornelius, NC) will announce their college pledges this week. Beck and Thomas have talked about the state of recruiting for the class of 2027 for weeks and both of these players could be crown jewel type players for the Gamecocks come signing day. Not to be upstaged is the switch to Nike, which will officially start tomorrow, July 1. It's yet another sign of the times in college football: South Carolina and North Carolina mutually canceled their upcoming home-and-home series in what looks like an effort to preserve a week for each team to play a cupcake game. This makes four total cancellations of home-and-home series for the Gamecocks, who will no longer play previously scheduled games against Miami, Virginia Tech and NC State in the near future. Thomas and Beck discuss the cancellation and how the CFB powers that be can bring these interesting home-and-home series back soon.
