In this episode of the Track Limits podcast, we are joined by one of the most notable racing directors in the IndyCar Series, Gavin Ward.

Gavin is by far one of the most accomplished racing engineers you will hear about. In his many years in F1, Gavin's key roles included: trackside control systems engineer, tyre & vehicle dynamics engineer, and race engineer alongside David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, and Daniel Ricciardo. In that time, he helped Red Bull Racing to progress from a 7th place constructor to a 4x double championship winning and 50+ Grand Prix winning powerhouse.

In 2018, Gavin made the transition into IndyCar and recently became the racing director of Arrow McLaren. He has an amazing career story of how he used his early opportunities and climbed up the ranks at Red Bull Racing. We also explored the reason why he made the move from F1 to Indy and what his goals are for the 2022 season with Arrow McLaren.

Join us as we unravel Gavin's stories, opinions, and expertise, bringing you closer to the heart of the IndyCar & F1 community. Don't miss out on this captivating interview!

  • EP 23: British GP Race Reflection - The Lando Show, Ferrari Strategy Flaws, Williams Emergence?

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Henny, Mikey, Swish and Feven share their thoughts on the recently concluded British Grand Prix.

McLaren did not mess around in their home race. They had a chrome livery and a new package that not only brought them back in the mid-field but almost on a double podium finish. William looked amazing throughout practice and qualifying and managed to secure P8 with Albon.

If you remove Max from the equation, the rest of the field is within four-tenths of each other. As Toto Wolff said, the regulations seem to be working in bringing the teams closer together in race pace. Only time will tell if Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Ferrari will bring massive packages to close the gap on Red Bull.

We also saw Brad Pitt and his co-stars filming the Apple TV movie during the GP weekend. It looks like APEX GP entered as an 11th team and led the drivers walk onto the track. We are excited to see how this movie comes together.

Next up, we have the Hungary Grand Prix, and we will get to see if McLaren can pull a repeat podium finish or if the other teams will fight back with new upgrades.

  • EP 21: Austrian GP Race Reflection - Lando’s Mighty Performance, Mercedes Struggles, Checo Comeback?

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Henny, Mikey, and Feven share their thoughts on the recently concluded Austrian Grand Prix.

With the new sprint race format, we got a lot more racing and even more TRACK LIMITS penalties. Even after the race, more than five drivers received additional penalties due to Aston Martin's protest.

With race qualifying on Friday, we saw the two Ferrari drivers show their one-lap pace and finish very close to Max's pole lap. Checo, unfortunately, could not put anytime on the board due to track limits.

The Sprint shootout and race offered some entertaining moments, but Max was able to cruise to a dominant win, with Checo finishing in 2nd place and Carlos in 3rd place. The Sunday race had everyone return to the qualifying grid, which meant that Checo had to climb up the ranks from P15, and with his strong performance, he finished 3rd on the podium.

Max has such a large gap that he pitted for new soft tires and went for the fastest lap on the last lap. It seems like no one on the grid can compete with Max right now. Even with a high degradation track, the Ferrari cars performed really well this weekend, and we will see if they can push even harder in Silverstone. The Mercedes and Aston Martin had a miserable weekend full of setup issues, lack of pace, and track limit penalties.

We are sending our condolences and thoughts to the family of Dilano Van 'T Hoff, who sadly passed away after an accident at Spa this weekend. We must address the safety issues that caused this incident and make sure they are avoided in the future.

Thank you for tuning in. We will see you in Silverstone for what can hopefully be a Mercedes or Aston Martin win?

  • EP 19: Montreal GP Race Reflection - 100th Red Bull Win, Ferrari Nails Strategy, Champions' Podium

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Swish, Henny, Mikey, and Feven share their thoughts on the recently concluded Montreal Grand Prix.

This is a full circle moment for us as we initially came up with the idea to start Track Limits during last year's Montreal Grand Prix. This past weekend, we were grateful to work with Red Bull, AlphaTuari, Aston Martin, Pennzoil, and Shell to get a closer look during the race weekend.

It was great to see Red Bull secure their 100th win since they entered F1. Seeing Ferrari make the right strategy and show great pace gives us hope that they can bounce back and fight for podiums. Aston Martin and Mercedes were neck and neck throughout this weekend and gave us an entertaining few laps of overtakes.

It may have been the most iconic podium finish F1 has seen and it was awesome to have it happen on our home race. Let's hope we get more of these finishes in the upcoming races. Maybe even a Mercedes or Aston Martin win coming soon???

  • EP 16: Spanish GP Race Reflection - Double Podium Finish, McLaren Surprise, Free Yuki

Welcome to the latest episode of Track Limits Podcast, where Swish, Henny, and Mikey, joined by guest host Niru, share their thoughts on the recently concluded Spanish Grand Prix.

Red Bull shows no sign of stopping, and this grand prix showed that this rocketship is not getting any slower. Mercedes showed up and finished with double podiums. The B-spec car shows signs that Mercedes might be on the right track to building a car worthy of competing with Red Bull. What looked like an excellent start for McLaren finished with both drivers outside the points.

Montreal Grand Prix is coming up, and the Track Limits team will be there all weekend. If you spot us, don't hesitate to come up and say hi.

Coming off ANOTHER 1-2 finish in Miami, the Red Bull team has their sights on a threepeat podium finish.

Monaco Grand Prix enthusiasts know that qualifying is more crucial to the race's outcome than any track on the calendar. What looked like an Alonso pole was snatched up by Max Verstappen's brilliant sector three performance.

The first half of the race seemed like a typical Monaco race where the grid stayed the same, but the rain came to the rescue and gave us a thrilling show of who could keep the car on the track.

We also discussed the Mercedes B-spec car they introduced this weekend, Pirelli tires, McLaren double point finish and many more.
