Listen Later

It’s always interesting to hear how treasury leaders entered the industry. Some had their sights set on treasury from a young age and others take long and winding paths to get there.

Today’s guest on The Treasury Career Corner has been involved in treasury since the start of his career but his roles have changed significantly over the years.

Dennis Morais, Global Treasury Director at GameStop, joins episode 256 to take us through his journey into treasury, circumventing bumps in the road throughout his career and what his role entails at GameStop.

Plus, he provides a helpful piece of advice for treasurers.

Dennis’ career began in risk management when he began as Treasury Risk Analyst at Whirlpool in 2001. He filled many roles at Whirlpool, such as Global Risk Manager and Finance Manager at Whirlpool Corporation before concluding his time there as Treasury Manager in 2013.

Dennis was Director of Treasury at The Children’s Place from 2019 until 2021 when he joined GameStop in his current role as Global Treasury Director.

He earned MBAs at Universidade Paulista and Fundação Getulio Vargas in his native Brazil.
