This week, Kamryn takes us on a deep dive of the celestial, alienating experience of transness in a cis-centeric society. She explains how she navigates passing, her willingness to put up with being clocked and how she forces the world to make space for her.
This week, y”all get a special Tranos double header! Arwen Kathke from Cardboard TIme returns to the show to talk about what it was like growing up during the height of mall culture and what kinds of crimes were best to do at the mall. And our special part two is a discussion about the ways trans people can sense each other without even speaking.
This episode was musically inspired by “Separate Ways” by Journey, Arwen’s truest mall banger.
And this episode’s strain is “1994 vintage snodgrass swag,” no longer available.
This episode of Tranos & the Lived Experience is a racism double-header. Beginning with the loud and annoying mourning period for Elizabeth II and its interplay with centuries of colonialism and genocide. Specifically because of the reactions people of color faced when celebrating too much or not being sad enough. Then Kamryn zooms in on a personal experience where a colleague demonstrated less pointed racism that left a bad taste in her mouth. In both of these cases, white liberals bare their ignorance about racial politics in different ways, intentional and unintentional, to harm people of color.

In this episode, Tranos produces an interview from the depths of her soul. She tells the story of the birth, death and legacy of Gabreal Saint.
In her youth, external pressures forced Kamryn to construct a shell, layer by layer until it manifested into a person who lived her life for her when she didn’t believe she could be suitable for it. And she details how she molted from the life Gabreal was built for into the life she lives now as the Kamryn we know and love.

In July, a wealthy couple in Rochester threw a “parody” Juneteenth party themed around anti-Black stereotypes. So what’s up with that? Is there anything about Rochester that made this seem like a good idea, or is this an anomaly that could have happened anywhere? Tranos interrogates the historical context of Rochester that makes it rife for expressions of cartoon racism, and maybe there’s a special treat at the end where she gets fed up with Black people who love to sayl the responsibility for racism doesn’t fall on racists.

This week on Tranos & The Lived Experience, ALove from The Screw joins Kamryn to discuss predators of all types. With conservatives labeling all queer people “groomers, it’s necessary to define specific terms in and out of a queer context. Kamryn shares her personal history with predators as a child, ALove shares his experiences with entitled older men as a young adult and they try to define how much of this behavior comes down to people abusing their power in socially-sanctioned ways whether explicit or implicit.
And we learn about how Kamryn’s butt plug provides the absolute “The Last Dragon” surround sound experience.
