TW: PRETTY MILD CRITICISM OF THE INSTITUTION OF WHITENESS AND ITS FANS
Tranos is tired. The response to Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion that the court should overturn Roe v. Wade was obvious, underwhelming and annoying. White women who respond only seasonally to oppression scrambled to put up ungrounded protests that fail to address the structural and social problems that make instant removal of abortion access possible. The lack of bodily autonomy for people in the United States is by design, but white women mostly don’t have to think about it, so why do some of them want to criticize lifelong activists of color and queer activists for not lining up behind them? Tranos investigates, but it’s because they’re racist.

This week, Tranos details the disrespect she experiences as a Black trans woman when she moves through the world. And she’s learning how to advocate for herself in new ways to cope.

This week, Tranos has a hard time. She describes the hollow she feels in her heart and how it can be filled only by justice where transphobia, racism and megalomania have left a void. Kamryn contextualizes bigoted laws or application of laws in Texas and Florida, and she reflects on the ways Russia’s invasion of Ukraine invites people to reveal their asses.

Tranos had a tough talk with a relative about trans people playing sports. They did want to listen, but she has a loyal audience for that. Kamryn discusses the hurdles trans athletes need to overcome to participate in their sports and dispels the myths about the supernatural advantages trans women must have over their cis competitors to justify systemic transphobia in sports.
