On March 23, 2020, Rochester Police detained Daniel Prude in the midst of a mental illness episode. Officer Mark Vaughn pressed his body weight on the prone Prude until he asphyxiated to the point of brain death. Prude was taken off life support a week later. Tranos discusses with her siblings Andrew and Tracy the impact this killing had on Rochester in 2020 and how it reflects the nationwide and wordwide problems of police battering and killing civilians.

This week producer Bee joins Kamryn for an extra thick episode of Tranos & The Lived Experience. They discuss Black whimsy and the barriers that separate Black people from frivolous enjoyment of popular media.

The spirit inspired her to drag a baby Tranos onto two different sensationalist daytime TV shows to publicly discuss potential repentance. Tranos answers questions like do fae folk got good weed and is Ricki Lake cool or not?

Tranos explains her spiritual connection to the world, the ways relatively recent developments in the world challenged that and how she withstood those challenges.

Tranos is back on the mic with NQO producer Bee, and they dissect all the heartless apologies they’re asked to accept from bigots, rapists and other devils. Famous people of all sorts get caught doing things nobody should be doing and ask forgiveness but lash out even further when their apologies aren’t accepted. Regular people become famous for doing the same things and beg to go back to the lives they had before they assaulted somebody in the street. Kamryn and Bee reflect on a future where people with skin in the game refuse to accept apologies from transgressors who haven’t put in the work.

This week, Kamryn takes us on a deep dive of the celestial, alienating experience of transness in a cis-centeric society. She explains how she navigates passing, her willingness to put up with being clocked and how she forces the world to make space for her.
