American politicians don’t care about born kids until they’re trans. Then they want to do anything they can to stop them. Tranos runs down the ongoing political effort to criminalize the lives of young people who need the support of their communities. Dozens of bills have been introduced in state legislatures in 2021, and Kamryn and Andrew examine the personal and political history of how rhetorical children allow politicians to hurt actual marginalized children.

In January, Rochester police beat up, detained and pepper sprayed a 9-year-old girl. Tranos watched the 90-minute-long cut together from the body cameras on the cops who terrorized this little girl and shares her reaction. Rochester, New York is her hometown, and she describes the history that Black Rochesterians have lived with since the 60s and contextualizes the brutality that continues to characterize the police in her city.
