Safe relationships can only happen when the people in relationships are safe people and exhibit safe traits. Toxic relationships are those where each person is not accepted for who they are and how they think and feel without being dismissed, put down, or disrespected. Healthy and safe relationships are those that are respectful, dependable, and mutually validating with understanding and reciprocal communication.
Do you feel responsible when other people behave badly? Do you take on the baggage that other people try to put on you that really belongs to them? Toxic behavior in others does not mean that you are responsible for it. Gain tips for setting boundaries, break out of co-dependency, gain self-empowerment in toxic relationships, and take responsibility for what is yours but not what belongs to others, no matter how much they try to put their stuff on you.
