Treks and the City

This week, Alice and Skyler dive deep into the kinds of jobs that are all about slapping a deck together, when in the recording timeline they last discussed Luigi Mangione, the sheer volume of preamble they can squeeze into a single teaser, just how much so this teaser sets you up for some Treks discussion, and more. Behind the paywall, they discuss this so-so Mirror Universe episode, what's going on with the halfhearted streaming release of the first new Treks movie in almost a decade, Sisko's horniness, and voles. So, so much Cardassian vole talk. Listen to the whole thing on Patreon!

This week, comedian and writer Ben Rodgers returns (Star Trek: Lower Decks) to fill in for Vero and cover so, so much Paul Schrader, sample boxes, the hell that is Vancouver, the horror of Alice's Canadian recording setup, small handwriting, and more. Behind the paywall, Ben and Skyler find out whether or not Alice watched the episode, what Bashir's going to look like when he ages, and they dive deep on drug-seeking aliens.

Alice and Skyler are here to discuss presidents on mushrooms, the joys of cable management, just how risky the latest bargain airline flight may or may not be, a show Skyler is not involved in but loves and talks about all the time, Vero and Vero's boyfriend's dad's dining seating preferences, and, truly, more than that. Behind the paywall, O'Brien becomes unstuck in time and Bashir's p casual about it, the Romulans cannot chill, and, effectively, DS9 gets a new O'Brien, who's still not the same as the old O'Brien, but, whatever. It's complicated. Listen!!

Whatever happened to Alice's first crush? Would living in the one-building-town in Alaska be great, or a nightmare? Should Treks just switch to covering that one-building-town going forward? And have enough people seen Steven Soderbergh's techno-thriller Kimi? Behind the paywall, a Ferengi shows the capacity to be kind and generous, but wouldn't it be funny if that was in fact not real? And the Caringtons: are they all they're cracked up to be? Sign up on Patreon to find out!!

Well, here it is: the first new episode we recorded after the awful thing happened (Ezra Klein played a Joe Rogan clip on his podcast). Also, everything is falling apart, and Alice and Skyler are trying to sort it out. Behind the paywall, O'Brien wrestles with Cardassian scientists who hate him, the power of vague prophecies, and Odo's love of The Purge. Listen to the whole thing on Patreon!!

Where is Alice? Behind the paywall, that's where, where, also, Kira... is not what she seems (she's stuck in a big 'ole rock). Vero and Skyler catch up on all of Vero's plans for her show at The Elysian. What's with all the paperwork to get married, what's the officiant service of choice these days, and is Vero ordained or not??

Max out your credit card to make the bank proud, will Vero and Skyler disappoint Alice by being indifferent to the episode up next? Listen to that episode to find out (it's probable)! Why are so many LA open houses ending in police situations? Also, please, pleeease, go out there and sign up to be a detective for us. Please. Solve some problems. Behind the paywall, we discuss how many organs you can replace in Vedek Bareil and still have yourself a Vedek Bareil, Ferengi dating culture, and more!! Listen on Patreon!!!
