The trial began in 1993 and became a media sensation when it was broadcast live on cable in the heyday of trash talk shows and tabloid television.  Erik and Lyle  Menendez became household names -- and national punchlines. Their public image of being spoiled rich brats would take a turn, however, when they revealed the dark secrets of their dad, Jose Menendez. They were the first huge True Crime story before True Crime was even a thing. 

In this episode, we go over both trials (yes, there were two), what really happened on the night of the murders and all the recent developments in the case, including new evidence that could set them FREE! Hint: it involves Menudo.
