This week I have the wonderful Kush Khanna on the podcast. Kush is a singer, songwriter and general legend who is one of those absolutely beautiful souls that I could chat to all day.

We talk about being in the creative industry, acting, singing and dip a little into diversity and equality in the performing arts world.

We share how we feel about our own outer confidence and self confidence, validation in the nature of acting, singing and performing, the highs and the lows and the moments where those around us started to gently suggest that we ‘get a proper job’.

There is so much that I love about Kush and what he does, as someone who previously pursued an acting career it was really refreshing, if not slightly nostalgic, to talk about something that I am so passionate about and something that completely lights him up.

This week I chat to Hope Virgo. Hope is the author of ‘Stand Tall Little Girl’, public speaker and mental health campaigner.

We chat about Hope’s experience with anorexia and how her treatment during a relapse inspired her to dedicate her life to change. She works to spread her story throughout the UK and raise awareness of eating disorders and the importance that mental health holds. She is currently campaigning to #dumpthescales by encouraging the way that eating disorders are diagnosed to be less focused on weight and instead take into account the many other life altering symptoms. This week I am joined by the incredible Laura Phelan of Phelan Well, Laura is a Therapist and Coach who specialises in Eating Disorders and Body Image. She works with clients online and in person through 1-1 coaching and delivering workshops to empower people to feel well from the inside out.

I can relate to Laura in so many ways, through my own almost decade long battle with an eating disorder and depression, despite this I’ve never really delved into this as a subject on the podcast so with the festive period on the doorstep I think it’s a great opportunity for Laura and I to get raw and real on how to cope with Christmas if you are struggling with an disordered eating, an unhealthy relationship with food and your body or an eating disorder.

We’ll be answering some of the big questions that come up around this time of year and give our advice on how to cope with food and feelings over Christmas.

From how to deal with relatives that you haven’t seen in a long time, coping with comments such as “you look well” and navigating food in all its forms.

Sam grew up in London and found himself in a local gang, selling weed in school to try to make some money, at the beginning of his twenties he ended up in prison for drug related charges.
