What good are goodness, kindness, and gentleness when we have to wrestle with the real down to earth challenges we face each day? This Sunday we discover the power these three words have, not only in our own personal lives, but in the world we live in as well. We will take a close up look at our Savior and the power these three words had during His ministry here on earth.

Have you ever been around someone for a long period of time that just drives you crazy? They continually disappoint you over and over and refuse to change? They seem to be stuck in a pattern of behavior that is detrimental to them and to you. How do you respond to this person? Better yet, how does God call on you to respond? This Sunday in worship we take a close look at the fourth fruit of the Spirit that Paul writes about in Galatians 5:22-23—patience, and how this fruit can be experienced in being “stuck” in life with difficult people.

This Sunday we focus on experiencing the peace of God both personally and corporately. The scripture text is Galatians 5:13-26.

Where does joy come from? How can we be a church family that becomes a place of joy and maintains a spirit of joy, even when world circumstances seem to dictate differently? How can each of us experience more joy, not just as a church, but in all facets of life? These are the questions we are exploring in worship this Sunday.

This Sunday we remember our fallen soldiers who gave their lives while serving our nation and, on this day, we also learn how their sacrifice points us to the cross of our Savior and the sacrifice He made for all of humanity. We learn how memory can bring us back to our highest calling, to love one another as Christ has loved us.

What does the Holy Spirit and Pentecost have to do with the last of the seven “I AM” statements Jesus made that John recorded in his gospel? Why did Jesus refer to Himself as the True Vine when He wanted to bring home a spiritual truth? What is the driving purpose God wants for me to have in my life? All of these questions may appear disjointed on the surface but are profoundly intertwined in His teachings found in John the 15th chapter. We will focus on verses 1-7 this Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling the believer and what that means in our overall purpose in life.

Last Sunday we focused our attention on the fifth “I Am” statement found in John 11:25. It could be called the most outlandish statement Jesus ever made when He said, “I am the resurrection and the life”. This Sunday we will look at what could be considered to be the second most outlandish statement Jesus made when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father by me.” (John 14:6) Some non-believers have said that He was being an elitist by making that claim..... But was He?

These words of our Savior are the most profound utterances ever spoken by a human being. From the time He launched His ministry till His crucifixion He would reference this truth with His words. So, we ask, what does that mean to me in the here and now? How does His resurrection make a difference in the circumstances I encounter each day? We seek to answer these questions in worship today, as we focus on the fifth “I Am” statement Jesus made about Himself.

This Sunday we look at the fourth “I Am” statement Jesus made about Himself that John records in his gospel. It is in these words that we find confidence in the here and now, and also as we face the future as we grasp the true meaning of His words, “I am the good shepherd.”

This Sunday we look at Jesus as the gate for the sheep. When we look for security by other means, it is Jesus, who provides true security and peace in life.
