Abraham is the father of all those who believe...those who walk in the steps of his faith.

Romans 4:11-12

The Apostle Paul presents the life of Abraham as a pattern for the Christian life. This means that the 7 distinct ‘separations’ he experienced in the ‘flesh’ represent 7 distinct separations we will experience in the ‘spirit’. Do you know what they are?

“Call no man your father on the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

Matthew 23:9

Jesus’ rather puzzling pronouncement here was not a forbiddance of acknowledging and honoring our earthly fathers. It is a commandment against depending upon anyone or anything other than our heavenly Father to provide all our needs. We must resist any antichrist/socialistic/Babylonian system of government that puts itself in place of God as our Provider.

Nimrod, the wicked great grandson of Noah, set up a city that offered men a way to heaven without God. In such a system, the state sees itself as God; and to those foolish enough to fall for it, the government becomes God. Don’t think it can’t happen here.

Genesis 10:8-9

Nimrod, the wicked great-grandson of Noah, and Babylon, the kingdom he created, provide us with a prototype and a preview of the spirit of antichrist and the kind of government he always seeks to install—dangers are still with us to this very day.

"Nimrod", in Hebrew, means "the Rebel,” one of the titles given the Antichrist in 2 Thessalonians 2:8—where he is called "The Lawless One". The form of Nimrod’s rebellion was to head up a great confederacy in open revolt against God.

So Noah went out of the Ark, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him. Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: "And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you...”
