Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England where they discuss a tragic triple murder out of Bangor, Maine. On August 13th of 2012, the bodies of Nicolle Lugdon, Daniel Borders, and Lucas Tuscano were found shot to death in a burning Pontiac Grand Prix. While unfortunate and unnecessarily brutal, luck was had when the police were immediately able to track the car to 31-year-old Nicholas Sexton, who was associated with another man, 34-year-old Randall Daluz. The two men were arrested over a month later due to cell phone records and eyewitness testimony, and the following year the two men went on trial together, ultimately leading to their downfalls.

In August of 1985, 16-year-old Catherine “Cathy” Malcolmson was riding her bike to her summer job at the local IGA supermarket when she disappeared. She was reportedly in good spirits and everything seemed normal. Eighteen months after she disappeared, her Murray bicycle was discovered just a mile from her house in a wooded area. There have been no other leads since her disappearance, and no suspects charged in her case. First, Katie talks about the incomprehensible and heartbreaking murder of 17-year-old Jalajhia Finklea, who was killed by a man she knew in October of 2020. Her body was taken hundreds of miles away before it was discovered. Then, Liz talks about the confusing story of the murder of Lyndell Moore, who was shot and killed while driving his car in New Haven, Connecticut in April of 2015. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to please contact them at 203-946-6304. On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz discuss an unhinged case involving a man who committed murder on two separate occasions, 2 decades apart. Robert Breton had an extremely unforgiving childhood, with a mentally ill mother and an alcoholic father, who one day, snapped at his son and found that to be the cause of his demise. After Robert was found guilty of manslaughter but served no time, Robert met his wife, having one son with her before their long marriage ended in divorce due to his behavior and instability. Depressed, drinking, and on pills, Robert took matters into his own hands the best way he knew how- murder. Listen in to hear the details of Robert’s life and the convictions that followed after his heinous crimes that took the lives of his family.

On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz take you to Etna, New Hampshire where they review the case of a truly pointless and brutal crime. In January of 2001, Half and Susanne Zantop, two kind and brilliant professors at Dartmouth College, were stabbed to death in their home after letting in two teenage boys who claimed to be doing a survey. After discovering several items of physical evidence, the police were able to apprehend two teenagers, James Parker and Robert Tulloch, who were the perpetrators of the crime, and sloppy in their clean-up. Tune in to hear the details of their capture and their devastatingly illegitimate motive for such a horrendous crime.

This week, Liz starts off the show by retelling the difficult life of Santino Kuang, a man born in war-torn Sudan who fought extremely hard to immigrate to America. After living in the US for only a short while, Santino was found stabbed to death in Springfield, Massachusetts. Then, Katie tells the very troubling story of the murder of Crystal Perry out of Falmouth, Massachusetts in June of 2013. Crystal was a proud indigenous woman who was found brutally stabbed to death with her friend. Both cases remain unsolved.

Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England as they navigate a historical story that involves murder, gossip, and an exoneration. All the way back in 1812, Russell Colvin of Manchester, Vermont, got in a heated altercation with his brother-in-laws, Stephen and Jesse Boorn. According to Russell’s young son, who witnessed the fight, the brothers attacked his father and left him for dead. Russell would soon go missing and nothing would be solved for seven whole years, when the brothers were tried for his murder and found guilty. The brothers proclaimed innocence, and somehow, a miracle occurred when their deceased brother-in-law showed up… very much alive.

On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz discuss the tragic and senseless murders of teenagers Frank and Charles Sherman and their friend Jeremy Bullock. The young men, plus two more friends, were working on their respective cars in Wilson’s Auto Sales garage on the evening of April 13th, 1993 in Foster, Rhode Island. It was around midnight when suddenly a gunman came in and shot three of the teens before fleeing the scene. The gunman was quickly identified as 25-year-old Robert Sabetta Jr., an officer of the Foster Police Department, who had recently been suspended without pay due to an assault he committed on Frank Sherman, the youngest victim.

It's another installment of True Crime New England's mini-episode case profile series! First, Katie starts off the episode by talking about two murders: Sonia Blanco and Evelyn Cruz. Both Sonia and Evelyn were found just barely a mile and a half from each other on the same fateful morning in February of 1993 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Their murders remain unsolved. Liz then tells the almost-solved case of the murder of Tyrone Phet, who was shot inside his car in Lowell, Massachusetts. His three suspected murders have been arrested and even faced trial, however the case ended in a hung jury and a new trial is in progress.
