 It’s late… past midnight. You’re home alone, curled up on the couch, and there’s a knock at the door. Not a gentle knock. A slow, persistent tap that echoes through the house, pulling you from your comfort.

You rise, and peer through the peephole. Standing there, in the dead of night, are two children. A boy and a girl, heads bowed, dressed in strange, outdated clothes. They don’t look up at first. You consider ignoring them, but something compels you—some part of you feels an odd sympathy. They’re children, after all. Alone, cold… right?

You crack the door, and that’s when they raise their heads, looking up in unison, revealing eyes like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Eyes as black as midnight, empty of light, of life. Eyes that pull you in, hypnotic and hollow. Their voices are soft, insistent, polite. They only want to come inside… if you’ll let them.

That’s when you feel it. A wave of dread so deep it roots you in place, your instincts screaming to shut the door, to turn away, but something stronger keeps you there. They say it again, “Let us in…”

Welcome back to part two of our chilling exploration into the infamous LaLaurie Mansion. In our last episode, we left off with the unsettling experiences of the young girls at the newly opened school, each of them mysteriously marked by bruises and scratches, all pointing to one sinister figure—the woman they all claimed to have seen, despite knowing nothing of her dreadful history. 

But the strange happenings at the mansion didn’t end with these accounts. As the years passed, even more disturbing tales emerged, leading many to believe that the spirits of Madame LaLaurie and her tortured victims had never truly left. 

In this episode, we’ll dive deeper into the spine-tingling events that continued to plague the LaLaurie Mansion well into the 20th century. In the frozen wilderness of the northeastern woodlands, where the howling winds cut through the trees and the snow piles high, there lurks a creature of unimaginable terror: the Chenoo. Towering above the treetops, with gaunt, skeletal limbs and eyes hollowed by eternal hunger, the Chenoo was once human—transformed by dark magic or cursed by a bitter heart. With every breath, its icy heart pulses with an insatiable desire for flesh, and its scream is said to be so chilling that it can kill anyone who hears it. Unlike any other monster, the Chenoo is a reminder that in the coldest reaches of the world, even the kindest soul can lose their humanity and become a predator driven by primal rage and an unquenchable appetite. The Chenoo is not just a creature of the wilderness—it is a haunting reflection of the dangers lurking in the shadows of our own darkest instincts.

Now, what is this creature, you might ask? The Chenoo, also known as the Giwakwa or Kiwakwa, is a towering, emaciated giant—a human, cursed and transformed through dark magic into a terrifying beast. It’s not just their enormous size that makes them frightening; it’s their insatiable hunger for human flesh. With fangs so large they’ve been known to eat their own lips in hunger, these creatures have been said to haunt the dense forests and icy wilderness, especially during the harsh winter months.

One of the most unsettling aspects of the Chenoo is that it was once human. The legends tell of ordinary people—men and women—who are cursed or transformed into Chenoos, losing their humanity as they grow larger and more ravenous. Unlike other giants in folklore, these aren’t mindless monsters but tortured souls, driven mad by an internal, icy heart of pure evil. And believe me, once they set their sights on a victim, there’s no escape. Their frozen, hollow screams can kill any living thing within earshot.
