There is a Russian Proverb called "Trust but Verify".

When you hear information from somebody else or other sources, it becomes really easy for us to agree, disagree and take a position.

Pull the hand break, ask questions, and verify the information before you ground yourself in a decision or judgement about the information and it's source.
