In this video I do theological triage in the realm of eschatology, or  the doctrine of last things. I argue that Christians should divide over  the second coming, final resurrection, and final judgment, but not over  differences concerning the millennium, the Antichrist, or the Great  Tribulation.

Jesus promised in Matthew 16:18, "I will build my church, and the gates  of hell shall not prevail against it." This promise is often wielded  against a Protestant view of church history. Here I recount two assumptions that are often made in such argumentation.

Protestantism is a renewal movement within the church, but does not  claim to be the "one true church." This claim better matches the  principles laid out in the New Testament for discerning the church than  the rival claims of traditions such as Roman Catholicism, Eastern  Orthodoxy, and others.
