"Witches listen to the secrets of the Earth, work in harmony with the powers of the moon and understand the longings of the human soul."
― Dacha Avelin
I am so excited today to bring a BRAND-NEW topic to T&T: Witchcraft! I am welcoming life enthusiasts and fellow graceful disruptor, Edie Fenton, to the T&T mic to share her journey in questioning a better way that led her to witchcraft and unpacking her own truths. From an early age Edie knew she needed to find out what made sense to her as far as religion, medicine, and beliefs in general. Society shapes much of our realities, but don't be afraid (be inspired by Edie!) to start doing some of your own research and seeking to see where we might have been led astray to keep us from knowing the truth- likely for the gain of others. Many current day "rituals" can be traced back to witchcraft including making a wish and blowing out your birthday candles, throwing coins into a wishing well, and even essential oils. It's all about the branding folks, if you shift your perspective you just might up your understanding. Enjoy this conversation and be ready to widen you lens on this great world and go hunting for your own meaning to make it all make sense!
Highlights:
Witchcraft, medicinal, herbal remedies and women with solutions. Feminism and business. Truth seeking and value applying. Questioning authority and trusting your gut. Traditions, rituals, and the "witchcraft" we unknowingly do on the daily. Changing the brand, not the product. Perspective, acceptance, and looking out for all voices. Beliefs, practices, and mental health.
Edith Fenton:
Edie left the teaching profession in April to find her joy. She's an empath who has recently started a journey to find her inner witch. She has 5 cats, 8 chickens and a giant man-child of a husband.

"Don't Gain The World & Lose Your Soul, Wisdom Is Better Than Silver Or Gold."
― Bob Marley
I am so excited to welcome Shirin Etessam to the T&T Mic. Shirin is a multitalented business boss that has a wealth of business and personal experience to help guide us all back to our souls. From breakdown to breakthrough, Shirin is passionate about guiding us to a better, more fulfilled life. Shirin states, "From an early age, we're taught that to be worthy, to find true happiness, and to be "somebody," we have to accomplish many things. We become achievement machines, always grasping for the next big win to send a signal to the world—and to ourselves—that we've "made it." Yet, it's safe to say that most of us remain feeling at peace and unfulfilled despite checking all the boxes. According to Shirin, it's because we've disconnected from our souls. Today we discuss her forthcoming book, FREE TO BE, a unique, easy-to-digest set of daily exercises to help us reconnect with our souls and begin a journey towards fulfillment in just six short weeks. From brain and heart detox to guiding us through rewriting our personal story, the lessons found in the book are those Shirin has used with major corporate clients including Apple, ABC, BBC, Virgin, Intel, and more. Shirin shares her personal journey that can inspire us all to take control back, seek our own version of happy- and do less!
Highlights:
Soul searching and questioning our own happiness. Breakdown to breakthrough. Finding the inspiration to pivot. Society vs. reality. Generational narrative and living in the now. Taking charge of your mental and physical health. LGBTQIA+. The Film industry then and now. Doing less and feeling more. Living unapologetically.
Shirin Etessam:
Shirin Etessam is an entrepreneur, seasoned media executive, and transformational speaker. She has produced films, original television series and specials, created several companies, and led campaigns for some of the world's most recognized companies (ABC, CBS, Discovery, BBC, Facebook, Apple, Intel, Virgin, and many more). A proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Shirin founded OML TV, a popular platform dedicated to streaming and curating quality, queer female, video content and OML Originals, a female led production company telling diverse female stories through a vast spectrum of film and television genres. Today, Shirin guides seekers in her six-week program, Free to Be, to disconnect their human "being" from their human "doing" to find true and lasting fulfillment. She lives in Marin County, California, with her wife and two children.

We can plan all we want, but the reality is that we have very little control over what happens in our lives. You need to show up in life with intention and be willing to roll with the waves as the path lays itself out for us and do want you can to keep your feet on the ground, steady and ready. I am excited to welcome #FITFAM to the T&T mic, Aaron Brill and Manny Menendez. I have trained for years with Aaron and was excited to learn that he was bringing CrossFit in a unique way to his then day job, as a police officer. Arron was inspired by an experience through a friend that experienced deep changes because of the fitness modality- so he decided to introduce CrossFit and its principles to the other "insiders" and Lions' Pride Fitness was born. Lions' Pride Fitness is a CrossFit Community for those in or returning from incarceration. With over 5 years of experience in building CrossFit programs inside prison, they wanted to continue that community success outside. Arron was lucky enough to cross paths with Army Combat Veteran, Manny Menendez, who he brought on board to help guide the Lions' Pride Fitness process. Arron and Manny share their passion for fitness, community, and questioning a better way regarding re-entrance into mainstream society- regardless of where you are coming from. We all know antiquated systems need change, but what a refreshing approach to take things into your own hands and contribute where you can. This is a great convo about shifting perspectives and providing space for growth and change. What a world we would have if we all could do more of that!
Highlights:
CrossFit and incarceration. Community, commitment, and working towards something larger. Perspective and opportunity. Systems and approach. Mindset of what we CAN do. Viewing people up close to lose your own bias. Humanizing leadership and meeting people where they are at. Taking existing skills and applying them to a legal game. Opportunity, hope, and evolution.

Veterans Healing Veterans from The Inside Out
My name is Manny Menendez I am a US Army Combat Veteran. After multiple deployments and injuries, I was medically retired from the service in 2013. I went on to earn my bachelor's degree after the service. Shortly thereafter I found myself incarcerated at Sterling Correctional Facility; this is where I found CrossFit. Aaron at the time was the president of the CrossFit program inside the prison and we helped establish/build the program at sterling. To this day I'm thankful for the work Aaron has done behind the wall and paving the way for CrossFit to be a part of that unique environment. Thanks to his work I was able to earn my CF-L1 behind bars. CrossFit has helped me make some foundational changes in my life and given me that structure, discipline, Comradery that I fell far away from during my transition out of the service. Now I am very passionate about helping those in prison and reentering the community through CrossFit and working out. I currently work as the lead program coordinator for veterans healing veterans, we are the largest organization advocating for the almost 200,000 justice involved veterans. We run a curriculum, which is based on narration therapy where we go in and help our nations forgot about hero's process some of their trauma so they are not finding themselves in these same positions. I have a very unique journey, but am truly blessed to have gone through it all, because now I have found my purpose/life's work and that is invaluable to me. Thank you for your time. I look forward to the future and continuing this amazing work we are doing, truly impacting lives and making better human beings.
