Jen and Kim started their true crime episode, but they had quite a bit to discuss: The Nashville shooting, swatting calls, Kim's dad's contempt charge threat, banning the Ruby Bridges movie, and canceling Micheaelangelo's David statue.

So many of us are preparing for standardized testing. We thought this might be a good blast from the past. Stay Twisted and Take Care of Yourselves!

Jen and Kim congratulate Bennifer on their engagement and discuss the logic behind fire drills. Then they dive into the world of standardized testing irregularities and nonsensical rules teachers must follow.

Kim and Jen give an honest review of Vox by Christina Dalcher. The premise is fascinating, but then things changed. But, what if you could only speak 100 words a day?

On the day the government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than one hundred words per day, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. This can't happen here. Not in America. Not to her.

Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs. Girls are not taught to read or write. Females no longer have a voice. Before, the average person spoke sixteen thousand words each day, but now women have only one hundred to make themselves heard.

For herself, her daughter, and every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice.

This is just the beginning...not the end.

This was a fascinating interview with Luke Stultz.  Did you ever think that there could be schools without phones?

Luke is a former middle school teacher. He works with Yondr to create phone-free campuses and promote digital wellness. By advocating for policies that limit phone use during school hours, they can help students stay focused and engaged in their learning.

Buckle up for an extremely candid discussion about parenting our children and parenting our parents.  Kim and Jen confess to many teenage bad choices.  Our parents didn't know where we really were or what we were doing. So, should we let our kids have the same embarrassing situations, or parent them in a different way?  Jen tells a disturbing tale of her mother talking about schlongs in the Texas Road House.
This is a twisted episode!

We thought it was a great time to re-release this one about observations.

Jen and Kim catch up talking about high school field day. They find some fun ways to look at the math book challenges, and Kim wants to know if real dogs and ponies actually do shows together. Jen is embracing the fact that she is not a visual watcher. They tell stories about observation experiences that their Linked IN listeners sent in.

Hello and happy whatever day it is. Kim and Jen catch up on their lives. Kim reminisces about the time her former stepmother bought her red nail polish. They talk about the things we did in the 80s that would get us arrested now. Did you have to buy parent cigarettes when you were ten? Then they talk about changeling lore which explains quite a bit about our personal children and our students.
Have a great week and stay twisted!

We had so much fun taking to Gaspare last year. He is absolutely hilarious and a great support to us as content creators and podcasters. You might have seen Gaspare on the Ellen DeGeneres show where he won a Presidents Day Trivia Game. His TikToks and Reels about Being a  NYC teacher and dad are hilarious and seeing him standup all over the country.  You will have a great start to the week with a lot of laughs listening to this episode.

Kim and Jen catch up on their lives that seem to be dumpster fires. Jen loses her purse at a rest stop, and Kim almost loses her luggage at the New Jersey airport. They relate to the lady who ran her car into a Popeyes restaurant because they forgot the biscuits. They discuss whether or not teachers should be allowed to use their sick time as mental health days. They talk about what different states are dealing with in regard to education. Oh...JLO is curating cruises for people...
