The crime scene was brutal. It was Friday the 13th of June 1980. Local officers entered Al and Betty Gores home to find it drenched in blood. Betty Gore, a 30 year old mother of two, had been hacked to death with an ax. One of her good friends, Candy Montgomery, was the last person to see her. Candy had a lot of secrets she was keeping from her friend Betty including an affair with Betty’s husband. Did a church going Southern lady like Candy, kill Betty? Did she get away with it?
