Two Little Kits

This episode is packed with major milestones and a cozy look at my hoops. I've poured my stitching time into the Museum After Midnight stitch-along, and the frame -including the crisp backstitching- is officially ready for part one! I'm also making serious headway on Ancient Tales, which is agonizingly close to the finish line with only the white left to go.

Beyond the fabric, a project years in the making is finally live: a brand-new, custom cross-stitch calculator on my website! Another wonderfully busy FlossTube update as I navigate a rotation of six different projects in progress, amongst other things. I'm sharing the quick finish of two teacher appreciation gifts (gifted today!), progress on the "Museum After Midnight" stitch-along, and the adorable addition of a bandana-wearing bunny to the "Life at the Cottage" stitch-along. Welcome back to the channel! This episode is another wonderfully WIP-heavy update as I navigate eight different projects on my hoops. I'm sharing progress on everything from the vibrant Life at the Cottage SAL to a nostalgic return to The Secret Grove, which I picked up briefly after last month's little drink-spill mishap. I've also officially reached part 10 of Extraordinary Birds, which means it's time for dinosaur-birds!

On the pattern front, my newest design "1900s Baby" is officially out in the world, and I'm giving you a sneak peek at a new font called "Quinn" coming to the shop soon. Between all the stitches, life has been busy—I'm counting down the two short months until StitchCon and even squeezed in a blood donation on the day of recording.

This episode is very heavily focused on works-in-progress, which is honestly my favourite place to be. We’re diving into seven different projects today, ranging from massive full-coverage pieces to a cheerful new stitch-along. I also share a slightly terrifying "laundry day" story involving a tote bag, a playdate, and some rogue printer ink — thankfully with a happy ending!

Beyond the stitching, I’m sharing a few personal updates regarding my health and a new chapter in my self-discovery journey as I begin the process of seeking an Autism assessment. It’s been a bit of a week with a stubborn stye delaying this recording, but I’m so glad to finally sit down, show you my chaotic hoops, and chat about everything that's been happening!

It has been a very busy few weeks, and my hoop (or rather, my MANY hoops!) has been full. I’m leaning even further into the work-in-progress life today with updates on *eight* different projects, including my progress on "Extraordinary Birds" and a very nostalgic return to my "Firefly" sampler. There’s also a new pattern release to celebrate — thank you all so much for the lovely reception for the "Introverted Club" design!

Beyond the stitching, my husband and I have been working on a 'Super Secret Project' behind the scenes for what feels like ages. I’m equal parts nervous and excited to finally start talking about it. It has been a very work-in-progress-heavy fortnight around here! Between finding a sudden flow state with a brand new design and making some serious headway on the new "Post-Apocalypse Fantasy" piece, my needle has hardly had a rest. I also share the bittersweet joy of finally releasing "Zodiac: Pisces," which marks the completion of my year-long Zodiac series. It’s a lovely feeling to see a long-term project reach the finish line.

Beyond the hoops, life has been a bit of a mixed bag. I’ve been dealing with some frustrating computer issues and a rather literal "ouch" moment after trying a new skincare product. I even had my very first encounter with being pulled over by the police for something incredibly silly!

Despite the IRL hiccups, the stitching has been a grounding constant, from the fiddly feathers of a peacock to the slow growth of my HAED.

Some things I would love your feedback on:

1. Now that the individual signs are finished, how would you like to see a "Zodiac Series Overall" pattern? Should it be a single large layout, and do you think it’s something I should offer as a free resource for the community?

We're back with more stitchy goodness! This past fortnight has been a bit of a whirlwind here. Between mid-winter break with my girls and two days of beautiful snowfall, I've had plenty of time to huddle up with my stitching. I finally finished the Flower Dragon Meadow SAL, and after a little bit of "frog therapy" on a strawberry dragon, I am absolutely in love with the new yellow replacement. Plus, I have a brand new pattern release to share: "Boy Band", inspired by the Saja Boys (from "K-Pop Demon Hunters"). It's full of fire, fashion, and beautiful colours!

We're also checking in on a mountain of WIPs, from the slow "reveal" of the "Fairytale" HAED SAL to some of the final stitches on my "Zodiac: Pisces" pattern, which completes the entire series! I've also been doing some 'retail therapy' with a haul from nathnolu and FlossyFoxShop — because one can never have too many patterns in their stash.

The biggest news of all? I'm headed to Stitch-Con this June! I'm already dreaming about my travel projects and what to pack.

In this episode, I'm getting honest about dealing with a bit of "life apathy" lately and how I've been leaning into my stitching to find some much-needed joy and grounding. It's been a busy couple of weeks on the frames, featuring progress on everything from my "Extraordinary Birds" to the "Fairytale" HAED stitch-along. I'm also sharing a look at the second-to-last release in my Zodiac series—Aquarius is officially here!

In this cosy FlossTube catch-up, I'm sharing what I've been stitching, designing, and thinking about over the past fortnight - the kind of update you can pop on while you work on your own project. I chat through two recent finishes (including "Zodiac: Aquarius" and a surprisingly speedy stitch of "The Starry Night"), along with progress on a whole stack of works-in-progress, from stitch-alongs and art-replication patterns to the early days of "Zodiac: Pisces" and my ambitious "HAED 2026 SAL".

I also share some behind-the-scenes updates from Two Little Kits, including several new beginner-friendly blog posts, finally sorting out my ORT displays (with help from my Cricut), and a funny little font mishap.

Add in a few real-life updates, a very opinionated cat making frequent appearances, and plenty of stitchy tangents - and you've got a relaxed, chatty episode made for stitching along with.

Some things I would love your feedback on:

1. Should I leave the mat board in or take it out of The Starry Night? I'm genuinely torn and would love your opinion.

In this episode of FlossTube, I’m sharing a relaxed stitchy catch-up covering my current works-in-progress, a big year-long finish, and what I’ve been stitching over the past fortnight.

From nearly finishing "The Starry Night", beginning progress on "Flower Prairie", continuing on "Extraordinary Birds", catching up on the available releases of the "Flower Dragon Meadow" stitch-along, and diving into the HAED 2026 SAL: "Fairytale" (which yes — I’m trying parking!), there’s a lot of needle time to talk about.

I’m also celebrating the finished "Flower Meadow", sharing updates on my Zodiac series (including Capricorn, Aquarius, and what’s coming next), chatting about a new blog post, upcoming shop releases, and a few real-life updates — including my bung toe behaving badly and the joy of kids going back to school.

Some things I would love your feedback on:

• Do you use Pattern Keeper? If you do, would you recommend it, and what do you love (or not love) about it?
• If you 'park' when stitching, do you have any tips for making it work smoothly? I’m still finding my rhythm and would love advice from seasoned parkers.
• Be honest: would a slightly *naughty* cross-stitch pattern feel “too much” for my shop? Or do you think it could fit?
• Do you keep your ORTs? If so, what do you do with them (jars, projects, cHaOs, or something else entirely)?
