Another meerkats first this week as they interview their first guest with her own Wikipedia page: actress, writer, and professional basketball player (allegedly) Nadia Alexander! Nadia talks getting into acting at a young age, being type-cast into teenage roles and the perils of clubbing with a really embarrassing celebrity. Lukas finally reveals his master plan to get everyone inside last year so he could become TikTok famous, and Gabby confesses that she’s been getting one celeb name wrong her whole life. Listener submissions bring stories of steamy and sexually confused dreams, jumping back into old relationships, and taxidermy.

The meerkats get together after their live show most definitely happened to reflect on the death of Lukas’s father. Lukas talks dealing with the complicated emotions around his specific grief, gaining closure at the end of a complicated familial relationship, and how much the responses to his most recent video helped him cope. Gabby brings in stories from a complicated familial death of her own before the meerkats end on a surprise segment and some truly out of pocket listener submissions. What an absolutely delightful interview the meerkats had with comedian and resident smart friend Shatha Yas! Lukas and Gabby pick Shatha’s brain about her work in international relations, getting into standup comedy and of course, skin care routines. Lukas admits he still has a landline and Shatha divulges some of the weird lingo that Harvard University ascribes to otherwise totally normal things. Listeners get into Zoom calls gone wrong, which leads Shatha to recall the story of when her meeting was infiltrated by Russian porn bots, and one writer-in questions if she’s straight or bi, which brings Gabby to discuss her recent cancellation on Twitter. This episode is a complete joy — you won’t want to miss it!
