Two Tangents episodes

  • 3/18 - St. Pattys, John Oliver vs Tucker Carlson, Grammys, & Cardi vs Candace

On his latest episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver aired a smear campaign against Fox host Tucker Carlson, calling him a racist, sexist, transphobic, white supremacist. As once huge fans of John Oliver we took a look at where things may have gone wrong and why his latest show is truly detrimental to the social fabric of our country. The Grammys went down this past weekend and as expected it was met with tons of controversy. From Bill Burr to Cardi B the woke and conservatives alike voiced their frustration. Some of their arguments were legitimate, most of them are absurd on all accounts, but either way, the Cardi B vs Candace Owens drama that ensued was more entertaining than the award show itself. In honor of Award season we sat down at the end to give out some of our own personal awards. All that right here on Two Tan Gents

  • 3/11 - Burger King, The Royal Family, Women's Day, & More Canceling Fun

International women’s day has come and gone but boy was it full of action packed drama. Burger King decided to sound off in support of women in the culinary workplace through tweeting a sexist trope. In all honesty we were genuinely surprised that it didn’t go over well, but now saying that line out loud i think i might understand why. Meghan Markle and Princy Harry revealed some juicy details about their departure from the royal family and we obviously get back into the cancel culture debate as our beloved Mumford and sons came under fire. Stick around for our game of cancelling women, we just wanted to even the playing field in honor of their day.

  • 3/04 - Cancel Culture, Brand Superficiality, Internships, Trump @ CPAC

Theres no way to address this past week without talking about the cancel culture storm that swept through our country’s discourse. Amazon Boxes have hitler mustaches on them, the CPAC stage was nazi propaganda, Dr. Seuss has got to go, and Mr POtato head is now trans oh and Oreo fucking loves it. We sat down to ask ourselves does any of this actually matter and if it does how can we distinguish between real censorship and righting past wrongs. We get into a great conversation surrounding the idea of unpaid internships. Should they still exist, are they worth it, what should big companies be doing? And lastly we didn’t watch Trump’s speech at CPAC but we’ll be sure to break down all the things he said during it in our latest game.

  • 2/25 - Coca Cola, Chris D'Elia, & We're Sorry

Coca Cola sent out a mandatory racial sensitivity training to its employees urging them to be less white. The training created by Robin Diangelo author of White Fragility seems to be completely antithetical to combatting racism, we sat down to dissect this insane new trend. Chris Delia came back from cancelled island telling his fans that he is sorry about his sex problem. We’re not buying the whole sex problem thing and we’ll tell you why. In light of all the apologies happening lately we also wanted to take the time to apologize for a few things, in our latest segment called Im Sorry.

  • 2/18 - Clubhouse, Limbaugh, Cuomo Scandal & 'Does Last Week's News Matter' Quiz

We have an absolutely banterous intro, as we’re getting real hyped about clubhouse. If theres a new audio platform Two tangents want to be there and we’ll tell you all about some new ideas we have to get it going. In sadder news, Rush Limbaugh past away though his death sparked a very interesting conversation about the way we as a culture react when a polarizing figure passes. Lastly we get into the meat and potatoes about the latest Andrew Cuomo scandal. An Emmy award winning political cover up coupled with a bit of family drama and information suppression, just gets my juices flowing. Stick around for our game called Does Last Week’s News Matter it was a great one.

  • 2/11 - Brady vs Kaepernick - Race and Politics PLUS The Viral Sensation Game

On Today’s Episode We’re talking about Race we’re talking about sports we’re talking Tom Brady, Collin Kaepernick and the fraudulent NFL. Lots of pieces were written this week comparing Brady to Kap calling Brady’s ability to weave his way in and out of the political discourse a portrayal of white privilege. We’ll tell you why this is a load of shit. We play another fantastic game this time bringing back viral sensations of the past and what they would have to do to gain the spotlight again. This was a great episode, hope you stick around and find out why my voice is completely gone.

Two Tangents are back and we’re better than ever, I’ve been making my way from New York to San Diego and have been out of the loop on news. Daniel catches me up with the latest in the world and we get into it with the latest on Alexandra OCasio Cortez. Was she lying about her life being threatened at the capitol, Are republicans just being cynical about her honest experience, is it somewhere in the middle and both sides are being their classic selves. We’ll tell you all about it. Stick around until the end because we play a hilarious game of who should be printed on our money. They’re talking about throwing Harriet Tubman on the 20, we think they should just redo the whole thing.

  • 1/21 - Biden Inauguration, The Older or Younger Than Biden Game Show, & Best Firsts of All Time

Joe Biden is officially inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States of America and the world can rejoice. Cancer is cured, the country is healed, peace is upon us, and a dove carrying an olive branch landed on Lady Gaga’s boob just to prove it. But in all seriousness, Biden made a big call for unity and we hope he is able to live up to the words he preached from the capitol today. Biden is 78 years old which is pretty damn old to be starting a new job, which is why we decided to sit down and play an amazing game of Older or Younger than Joe Biden. Wait till you find out all the states younger than Joe Biden. To top it off we also played a game of firsts, and we went back and forth and drafted the absolute best and worst first that this life has to offer.
