How? When? Why? Is prayer really necessary? If God knows everything already, why should we still pray? How can prayer cease being a burden, but rather a privilege to enjoy?

The story of Job is a well-known story. Both Christians and non-Christians are fascinated with the life of Job and the challenges he faced. It appeals to so many because it tackles one of life’s most intriguing issues: suffering. It’s easy to accept suffering when you know you’ve done something wrong to deserve it, but what if you don’t think you deserve it? Let us journey through the book of Job, and let us look at this issue from the life of this righteous sufferer.

So many things have changed in UECP's 95 years: our facilities have changed, ministries have changed, even the people have changed from one generation to the next. But our mission and our calling have not. It is still the same: the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, as our Lord Jesus has given us 2000 years ago. But do you know that Jesus was only continuing the command of His Heavenly Father from way back in the Old Testament? Let us look to the book of Deuteronomy and learn what it originally means to love God and make disciples.
Life is short, and waiting seems to make life even shorter. All we do in life is wait, even during the time of the apostles. The apostles trained under Jesus, they were able to do some things that Jesus was doing like healing the sick and casting out evil spirits. But just when some of them might think they are already ready, Jesus is then being crucified on the cross. From being ready to go, the apostles were asked to wait for the Holy Spirit. Surprisingly, they respond to this revelation by praying. Yes! They applied what they asked Jesus to teach them. So how should we put waiting in the right perspective? What is the right thing to do when waiting? Let us see together how God’s word will speak to us today.
