TW mention of body image. Have you ever been called a pick me for liking a certain sport? On todays episode I discuss the damage competitive sports can have on young girls in regard to body image, toxic friendships, losing the love for your sport and the feminist take on the advantages men can have over women in certain sports. I discuss the patronising response from people when you openly admit to liking a sport considered ‘masculine’ - you do NOT have to prove yourself to anyone. AND a snippet of my episode surrounding the phrase ‘pick me’ where we as a society are perpetrating stereotypes of certain sports beloning to men when we call girls ‘pick me’ if they like a certain sport. TW throughout episode mentions of body image, diet culture etc - A big anxiety when summer is round the corner is diet culture that has been engrained into our heads through comparison and beauty expectations. I have in the past struggled with my body image especially in the summer wearing a bikini, but in this episode I talk about how I have become confident and content in my body because life is too short to hate your reflection. You are more than just a body and you are perfect the way you are. Celebrate your body and nourish it in gratitude for all it has done for you, admire someone’s beauty without questioning your own especially in the summer! Wear that bikini and eat that desert - do whatever you want! ILY

anxiety can feel like it’s a cloud slowly taking over your life, but it doesn’t control you - let it visit, let it teach you and then let it go don’t let it overstay. acknowledge where this anxiety is stemming from, recognise what you can do to help and find new healthy coping mechanisms. anxiety is not a weakness, reach out to people and ask for help there is no shame in feeling this emotion - feed that ball of anxiety into your art whether it be poetry, reading, writing. anxiety and mental health doesn’t always have to be something to ‘get rid of’ and push to the back of your mind so it goes away, it is something to heal from and grow from. you have all the time in the world. hello my loves!! on todays fashion based episode i discuss how i went from desperately caring what people thought about what i wore to now not caring at all! everyone has their own personal opinions on fashion choices, so why not just wear what you want? people will talk either way so you may aswell be happy while they are doing it! i went from wearing what i thought people wanted me to wear/what i thought i would get the least judged in to now wearing thing i think are cool regardless. wear whatever you want life is too short and to do that try out charity shops, pinterest and many other ways to find your personal style! Confidence to me is being okay with being me, not comparing myself to how someone looks and what they wear or changing myself to being someone I think will be liked the most. Never dull yourself down to please other people, realise that adopting the ‘idgaf’ mentality is all about building up the most authentic version of yourself and not caring of people don’t like it. When you become confident in yourself you find so much happiness and romance within the world because YOU and truly YOU are now in it. Confidence is fake it till you make it, but also lack of confidence can stem down to your environment and peers. Learn the art of cutting people off and recognising it as self care, if there is a voice inside you that so desperately wants to wear a full metallic suit - listen to it, heal it and nurture it because it is a side of you that wants to come out. If you are scared of being judged for wearing a cool outfit in public, that person may ‘judge’ you for two seconds then you will never see them ever again so who cares what they think! ILY

I genuinely believe the greatest investment I have ever made is a journal, you will never be alone with a pen and paper. When I was at my lowest my journal was my solitude and escape, i humanised my journal and essentially thank it for saving me when I was at my lowest. A journal doesn’t always have to be negative, you can draw, write poetry, stick memories of dinners and drinks out. Anything you want, your journal is your peace of mind and release from reality - it is something that will listen with no judgment if you need to vent. ILYSM.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be bitter, love is all around you regardless of your relationship status. If you are single this Valentine’s Day, that does not mean you are unlovable or undesirable - It simply means your single. That. Is. All. Love and happiness is not defined by two, cultivate love for yourself and then you will spread love everywhere you go. On a political note - All in all Valentine’s Day is a consumerist push, but on a romantic note - Valentine’s Day does not always mean ‘romantic’ love, celebrate it with your friends, family and recognise that if you are ‘alone’ you are not lonely! Whether it be in romantic, platonic or even relationships with yourselves - we learn lessons from getting hurt. But acknowledge that the lesson isn’t that you aren’t pretty enough or aren’t funny enough but that you simply have a beautiful capability for compassion. You have a heart so big you are able to give out love and experience it, sometimes it may not work out the way we want it to but that’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Recognise that sadness can create art, heartbreak can create learning and self love to be your priority. Compassion is not a weakness, do not shut yourself off from love but see it as something you have a wonderful capability to have. ILYSM.

We all have our own anxieties, and one universal perhaps to the teen age group is the fear of rejection - whether it be romantically, socially or fashionably we may believe we are not enough or feel unworthy of putting ourselves out there. So what if someone doesn’t like you back? It may hurt but feed that emotion of sadness or anger into art, make a painting or a new playlist. If you fear you aren’t enough to make new friends, their loss - ask someone new to go for coffee or go to lunch together as you never know they may be the greatest friend you will ever make! Put yourself out there and listen to your heart, the fear of rejection is holding you back. Ily <3
