Unapologetic Tawk

We’ve got Rudy and Relly in the studio this week, another entertaining and illuminating episode of banter and discussion between this dynamic duo. Dimez had work and a fashion show, go Dimez!

We dive right in on Kendrick Lamar and the halftime show - why is everybody else’s struggle more important than the struggles of Black people? Why did folks want Kendrick to speak on everything else, Palestine, Trump etc etc, and why did they not recognize the brilliance in his performance, and the importance of it being for Black people?

We continue talking about Anti-Black Racism in activist and protest communities - beyond explicit racism and into the tokenization, racist expectations of Black activists, racist beliefs about methods, work, and the community. In our communities right now, Black activists are still facing racism from other activists. Mutual aid is part of Black Lives Matter and don’t you forget it!!!!

Eric Adams claims that he was dead for four days and rose from the dead (?? Strange man) but he must have the timeline wrong because Relly crucified him over the bullhorn as he left his federal court hearing in NYC last week Wednesday. GAME OVER ERIC! More updates on his slippery, lying, trump-sucking activities as well. WE REJECT ERIC ADAMS!!!!

We are humbled to have Jose Angel Perez aka Power the Poet on the show today to enlighten us with his life stories– growing up in the foster system, being sent to Rikers, being at Rikers at the same time as his Mom, and how he found poetry as an outlet through all of this. We dig deeper with Jose in a discussion about the different rehabilitation programs offered to incarcerated folks, and where the American carceral system is failing to deliver that rehabilitation. Jose then delivers a reading of one of his poems from his book “Till Ink Meets Paper” that left us all with chills. You’re not going to want to skip this episode!

First and foremost, Happy Martin Luther King Day! We didn’t realize this episode was dropping on MLK day until like, yesterday. What a great way to honor Dr King, by educating and enlightening the people. Relly is marching today too right as this episode drops!

Welcome back to another episode with Unapologetic Taaaaaawk! This week we have Rudy and Relly chopping it up in the studio. We talk about everything from Trump and the inauguration, his antics, and tiktok, to Eric Adams, his multiple Federal investigations, the NYPD, and his campaign being broke! The two of them went down to plan more shenanigans at Mar A Lago by the way, including probably Eric Adams’ pardon. Underground, Kathy Hochul has a wildly unrealistic plan to add patrol officers to every subway train every night, and new anti-fare-evasion measures are just making hopping easier! All the BS is very real, keep dodging it NY!

Welcome back to Unapologetic Tawk!!! New year, same fight!! Liberation!!!

We start the year off with a fiery episode - @davidnewyorknynyc, @goodguyaudits, and @iamgodny - three New York-based first amendment auditors with enough stories to tell they could talk for months.

They enlighten us on what it means to be an auditor, the importance of accountability for public officials, as well as bring us the story of New Years 2025, where they got into a situation with NYPD ending with David being sent to Rikers Island! SHAME on nypd.

They tell us more of their stories from their combined years monitoring the city, Relly and Rudy swap some NYPD stories of their own, and we discuss the intricacies of trying to hold a corrupt organization like the NYPD accountable.

We are excited to bring you an interview with Terrell J Starr in episode 60! He tells us journalism stories from the war front, and at the intersection of his identities as a Black Queer man. We get into some geopolitics too, discussing the relations and differences between Palestine and the Ukraine, Russias historical and current aggressions against Ukraine, and what it really means to abolish the US War Machine.

This week we have Relly and Dimez in the studio, bringing you an interview with Jonas and Shemily of Mass Mutual Aid! If you’ve been watching, you know that MASS (Mutual Aid through Scientific Socialism) is a new mutual aid group that started in Kensington Brooklyn a few months ago.

We talk mutual aid with Shem and Jonas, and then our discussion shifts to their organizing in school for Palestine - the student occupation, the demands being made, the retaliation, and the ultimate reality of where we are and what happens next.

Dimez Shemily and Jonas bond over their love of art and fashion and entrepreneurship.

The discussion flowed so well that we got really into it and ended our episode with just a quick run through of some current events.

Today we have an incredible conversation between our guest Kiersten and Relly! Kiersten introduces us to the astrology of revolution including recent and current astrological and political events.

The two of them have an in depth conversation about Rellys birth chart and how different aspects show up in his life. This is an intimate conversation where we learn a lot about Relly, thankful to Kiersten for bringing this sweet energy to us!

We also get into the updates on the trial of Daniel Penny aka The Subway Strangler for killing Jordan Neely - we were shocked by these updates.

Relly and Kiersten both give their perspective on the trial after being there in court for the proceedings.

Kiersten brings us a refreshing analysis of the 2024 presidential election results that is important and overlooked -> the smoke and mirrors involved in various voting exit polls.

We’re baaaaaack! After a couple weeks off, we are jumping right back into it with a huge news week. Obviously, we get started by discussing the election results, what another Donald Trump administration means, the failure of the Democratic Party, and emboldening white supremacy.

We inject some levity into things talking about the public tussle between two top NYPD officials at the NYC Marathon last weekend over a group photo.

We end giving updates from on the ground at the Daniel Penny Trial where Relly and other activists have been holding it down for Jordan Neely.

We have the dynamic duo of Relly and Dimez in studio this week with a variety of topics. First, they delve into an underreported story of a suspected lynching of a Black man in Alabama that is now being investigated by the FBI. Then we discuss an interview with Keke Palmer that leads into a larger discussion around the corruption of celebrity and systemic, societal abuse. As the election continues to draw nearer, we get into a few presidential race topics including Barack Obama’s condescending message to Black men on who they vote for and reacting to Kamala’s Fox News interview. The hosts discuss the viability of third parties and how we can exert electoral power through exploring other models for government.
