It's common knowledge that scripture does not condone sexual immorality but is it common knowledge as to why?  Why is Sexual purity essential and how do an individual's private actions affect the larger culture and society?  These things rarely get discussed and unfortunately lead to a disdain for the purity prescribed in scripture.

Here is the truth about truth, it can and will cause division.  With that in mind should we stay silent in moments where truth is necessary, or should we speak the truth and face the consequences?   Ultimately speaking the truth has a drastic effect on those who hear it and those who speak it and if we strive to be like Christ then we must be ready to speak the truth.

During the time of the early church, there were many false beliefs surrounding the person of Jesus.  One of the more popular beliefs goes by the name of Gnosticism.  This belief made the claim that Jesus never came in the flesh, and you can imagine why this would be a problem.  Paul addresses this heresy in his writings and he uses the Mountain of God as a logical premise for the fact that Jesus came in the flesh.

Grace is unconditioned, but it is not unconditional,  what exactly does that mean?  When we hear about God's grace we typically hear a sentiment that implies that there is nothing we must do once the grace has been received,  but that's not what the Bible seems to say.  Grace has a cost, grace when received will cost you something.

Christmas is Pagan!  Or at least that is what some argue.  The idea of Christmas and Christmas Trees being a pagan holiday has been around for quite some time, and proponents of this view will often cite historical and biblical data to try and support their argument.  However, when assessing these claims, we must vet the data they are giving to see if it's correct.  When this is done the truth about Christmas and Christmas Trees becomes utterly clear.

Paul argues for unity in the body of Christ and he does so by invoking God's attributes!  If we are all going to be one then it follows that we fully understand the God we are meant to follow.   Understanding God's attributes can be hard because they transcend human comprehension, however, we can still understand the importance and implications of all that God is.

Scripture calls for unity in the body of Christ, which may seem straightforward forward but what does unity mean?  When we look across our culture and even the world, we see countless denominations claiming to have a better application/understanding of God's word.  Does this look like unity to you?  In this episode, I lay out my current struggles and thoughts regarding denominations and the divide that they cause.

Everyone wants to know what their life's purpose and calling are.  Culture has taught us that if we look long and hard within ourselves we will find our unique calling in our lives, but is this really the case?  Is the meaning of life simply trying to find life's purpose, or is there a universal calling that we are all commissioned to pursue?

Followers of Jesus have been given strength and power, the only problem is many believers throughout history have fundamentally misunderstood what this power is and what it is for.  Is this power one that is to be held over other people?  Is it given so we can rule politically? Or is this power given to help fortify our faith and trust in Christ? These questions crucially need an answer and the answer we are given will change the way we view our purpose in this world.
