Here's a biblical truth,  sometimes God's grace involves pain and suffering.  How can that be? Usually, when we think of grace we think of unmerited mercy and deliverance from pain and suffering. Still, truth be told there are times when we can be so lost and foolish that God's grace requires us to face unwanted pain and suffering to see the results of our sinful actions.

Let's get straight to it.  Paul tells us that there was a great mystery that God had not yet revealed to his people, a mystery that could only be revealed in Jesus Christ.  Many mysterious things may come to mind when we think about God, his power, knowledge, eternal being, and so on.  However, the mystery that was revealed through Christ was so profound that Paul dedicated his life to sharing the revelation of it.   What could be so important that it would drive a man to sacrifice his own desires to follow such a mystery?

Where can we experience God's presence?  In other words, where does God dwell?  In the past under Old Testament customs the temple was God's dwelling place, it was the one spot on earth where God and his people could meet.  However, this meeting place was restricted to the High Priest and even though the High Priest represented all of Israel there were still limitations to their access to God.  One might ask, "How do we access God today?" Fortunately, the answer revolves around God's people.  So join me as we discover the way we can truly access God.

The ultimate dream is that humanity would reach a state of world peace, but is world peace something that can ever be attained?  In a culture far more connected than generations past, most people would say that unity and peace would be the highest good humanity could achieve.  Although this version of the world seems to be the best, is it possible, and if so would it be a good thing?

Have we been approaching our conversations and disagreements all wrong?  Is it a waste of our time to simply state facts in an attempt to pull one over on someone who disagrees?  These questions require careful answers because they dictate how many people approach their disagreements regarding religion, politics, and moral issues.  The bible models a very productive way to prevent truth claims in a way that leads to tangible change in one's life.  Join me on this episode as we dive into this critical topic.

We've made it to the age-old debate, are we saved purely by faith alone, or are there some works/actions that need to accompany our faith in order to be saved?   Paul says something essential in his letter to the Ephesians that should catch every eye, and this sentiment that he shares is so important to him that he has to repeat himself just to make sure we fully understand.  It seems clear to me that by thinking through the implications of God's grace we come to see the relationship that Faith and Works play in the life and salvation of a follower of Christ.

Mercy is often understood as a lack of Judgement and in most circumstances that makes total sense.  However, when we look at the example of God's mercy for those in Christ is this still the case?  It seems to me that when it comes to our choice to follow Christ there is an act of judgement from one party and mercy from another.  I understand this vague description may be confusing so join me in this episode as we discover how mercy and judgement go hand in hand.

Sin is a process... It is the end result of a series of events that all lead to a terrible end.  The challenge we have to face every day is figuring out what sparks that unfortunate series of events and knowing what can be done to stop it.  Luckily for us, we have a guide, a manual if you will, that highlights the steps that not only lead us to sin but steps that can lead us away from it as well.

In a world where death is inevitable and pain and suffering are guaranteed what hope do we have?  Is our existence simply a random series of events with no purpose or design, or is there a reason for our existence?  In a world, without God, there is quite literally no hope.  However in a world with a divine creator, there is hope for a purpose and ultimate reason for all things.
This has led me to wonder... What hope do we have?
