Genesis 1 tells us that God separated the waters below the sky and the waters above the sky... Does this sound odd to you too?  The waters below the sky seem obvious! Oceans, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc.  The waters above the sky, not so much.  What does the Bible mean when talks about the Waters Above?

The Expanse, Vault, Firmament, or Canopy... What is this thing in Genesis 1:6 supposed to be? When we think of the Heavens we envision a vast universe full of galaxies and planets.  When we think of Earth we think of a globe that is floating in space.  Both of these happen to be true, however is this how Genesis talks about the Heavens and the Earth?  Have we misunderstood Genesis by assuming our definitions of Heaven and Earth into the text?  If we are going to understand what Genesis 1 is truly saying then we need to understand what the biblical authors thought of when it comes to the Heavens and the Earth.

We are finally doing our study over the creation narratives in Genesis 1-3!  Genesis 1-3 has shaped people's view on the origin of life and the universe as we know it, it has shaped people's view of the step by step process that God used to the universe, and it has also shaped people's view on the trustworthiness of the Bible (for better or worse).  Every single one of us whether we know it or not approaches Genesis with questions, cultural assumptions, or expectations that we look for it to meet.  Is this the correct way to read Genesis?  Should we be taking a closer look at the way Ancient Israelites would've understood the text?  And most importantly... WE FINALLY FINISHED ROMANS! And with that, we have a very simple task to complete, and that is finding out Who Wrote Romans! The practices behind letter writing in ancient times were far different than the ones we use today. With that in mind, we can expect to see differences in how authors like Paul would've gone about crafting this letter to the Roman Churches... and here's a hint, Paul didn't write this letter.

Do we have a full understanding of the nature of "The Satan"? Im led to believe that unfortunately we don't.  What does "Satan" mean and can humans be considered a "Satan"? All of this is important to understanding why false teachers are viewed in such a negative light, mostly because of their adversarial role to the truth of the Gospel.

This passage has to be the most overlooked passage in all of Paul's letters.  Paul is listing a ton of people he wants to be greeted by the Roman Churches and if we take a careful look at this list there is a ton of stuff we can learn! One of the things we can see is how we have been doing church wrong for many, many years.
