Uncensored Christian

If God doesn't exist then life has no ultimate purpose or meaning, let that sink in.  If we truly are just flesh and bone and there is no higher purpose given to us by God, then everything we do is truly meaningless.  In order for anything to matter God must exist, if that is true then how should we view meaning and reality?  What is our purpose in this vast universe? Oddly enough we find the answer to these questions in Paul's letter to the Roman Church.

For those who have been faced with a government that asks its citizens to go against the will of God, you may wonder, should I obey the government?  This is a topic that comes with various answers and interpretations, but Paul seems fairly clear with his instruction in Romans 13.  Are we to always obey the government, or are there situations that require us to choose God over government?

What are you made of?  As a follower of Christ, what are some tangible markers of your belief in Jesus?  One cannot be Christian by name alone, it must be followed by action, or qualities that prove you are who you say you are.  Paul gives a list of "Christian Qualities" that are essential to our character as Christians.  Are you living out these qualities?

Do we really understand what Love is?  For many, we think that the true definition of Love has been hijacked by culture, but is that really the case?  Our understanding of Love should have more to do with its foundation and less to do with its definition.  Another question we should ask is, how does Love play out in various cultures?  We know our western culture values the individual's choice of morality and identity, but we may fail to realize that other cultures (including the Biblical authors) view their community differently.

The body of Christ being diverse, unified, and effective is a premier focus for Paul in his letter to the Roman Church.  The question that naturally arises is, how can we be unified if we hold different beliefs within the body of Christ?  We see this very concern played out every day in "denominations", groups of followers of Christ who separate according to their interpretation/beliefs of scripture.  With this in mind, how can we still be a unified body under Christ?
