As the battle over the Farm Bill rages on Capitol Hill, 3 animal activists were arrested, during a House committee hearing, for demanding that taxpayers not be forced to pay for massive subsidies to the animal agriculture industry or foot the bill for cruel practices that also devastate the environment and hurt marginalized communities. Robert Grillo, president of the grassroots animal rights organization Free From Harm, was one of those arrested and joins us to tell the tale and warn us about the dangers of the Farm Bill, which could prop up animal agriculture with huge government subsidies for years to come and which also threatens to thwart the will of the people who've passed propositions against the cruelest animal agriculture practices.
