The Book of Romans is the subject of our study here on the Unchanging Word Bible study. We are glad you have joined us today as we continue looking at and hearing about the Gospel of God contained in this book of Romans.

This Gospel of God is systematically set forth by the apostle Paul as the author, with Tertius the writer, of the good news concerning a person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

And as was mentioned in a previous lesson, this person and the good news were all previously announced in the Holy Scriptures, the Old Testament. In fact, as Dr. Mitchell notes, this book of Romans contains about 60 quotations from the O.T., more than any other book in the New Testament.

Well, with your Bible open to the book of Romans, lets begin in chapter 1:3 as Dr. Mitchell continues.

The Unchanging Word Bible study continues in Romans 1 verses 1-2. These will be the subject of our study today.

As we begin in this new study of Romans, Dr, Mitchell comments that for one to know the book of Romans is to make one heresy proof. Knowing the truth of the Gospel of the grace of God establishes the believer in their own life, in their relationships and in their service to God

As we will find out, the apostle Paul is the author of Romans. The apostle Paul's own personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ was one of being a bond-slave to His Lord as a preacher, teacher and an evangelist. He was totally separated to the Gospel of God. Dr. Mitchell speaks of the meaning of separation.

We are now in the 21st and last chapter of the Gospel of John here on the Unchanging Word Bible study.

Dr. Mitchell notes that in this chapter, the Lord Jesus is revealed as the great and chief shepherd of His people.

In this chapter, the Apostle John writes that this is the 3rd time Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection.

The focus in this additional chapter is the Lord Jesus, Peter and John. Jesus has an individual purpose for each of them. Jesus has a distinct purpose for each of His followers, you and for me. We are to Follow Him.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, John 21:1.

As Jesus appears to His disciples, Dr. Mitchell shows that these disciples had great joy and great peace.

In 1 Cor.15:45 it written of Adam that he became a living soul, whereas of Jesus it is written that He became a life giving Spirit.

However, Thomas was not present when Jesus first appeared and he missed a meeting with the Lord.

Dr. Mitchell states that unbelief dictates terms to God before believing.
