We are hearing what the Apostle John records of John the Baptist.

The Unchanging Word continues our study in the Gospel of John 1:12-17.

In this study, Dr. Mitchell brings to our attention the fact that this Gospel, written by the apostle John, is the only one who refers to Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. And this refers to Jesus' Deity.

We then are reintroduced to John the Baptist who declares that Jesus Christ existed before himself even though Jesus was born after John the Baptist.

He also says that all our spiritual needs are met in Jesus Christ for of His fulness we have all received, grace upon grace.

The Gospel of John verses 1-5 is the focus of our study here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

Dr. Mitchell will be sharing the purpose of this fourth gospel written by the Apostle John, the disciple whom Jesus loved.

You will find that this gospel is preeminently focused on the person of the Son of God, God manifest in the flesh, Jesus the Messiah, the Christ of God. The name Jesus is written some 247 times.

This gospel uses the word believe nearly 98 times and both the words faith and repent are never mentioned at all.
